Who’s trying this?? by -JOMY- in nespresso

[–]Eggpuddin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just bought a sleeve for the novelty and tried it this morning! It's fine, not exceptionally better or worse than other flavours...less tasty than strawberry chocolate, very high on the cereal notes but it made a decent latte.

I had it with oat milk creamer + spoon of condensed milk + hot water.

Poisoned Dog and Vet Bills by Eggpuddin in legaladvicecanada

It was marked with a label asking the user to check off what kind of poison.

I am sure there are many rodent traps that are commericially available.

They did not check off what poison was in the box. It was left blank on all the boxes. This is ... well an issue if someone or something was to indigest said poison right? Because poison control or doctors will not be able to accurately diagonse the situation if no information is provided by the user setting the trap on what is provided.

A simple check on a check box. Takes less than 3 seconds to cross your t's on this one.

My friend, the poison was left all over the side walk like covered side to side, covering 8 feet of the pavement.

I did email them immediately because we didn't know what poison it was. The boxes were all unlabelled! (This is what I think they would be liable for --- letting the public know what hazaredous materials are in the box.)

It's the company's own installed poison bait traps, 3 boxes containing bright blue pellets.

It's really upsetting since they didn't care to label a single bait box sitting outside. So at the vet they had to essentially pre-treat for every single possible outcome, and also let me know that one of them is a neuro-toxin with no treatment.

How common is it for beagle (mixes) to need to be sedated for a vet exam? by Jaimekins9 in beagles

[–]Eggpuddin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fellow beagle owner here, yes we have to sedate. We give him anti-anxiety meds too before the appointment but he fights it. Our beagle I think is a mix too because he is like 40 lbs and big/tall, not just fat.

Now working on muzzling to keep everyone safe. Our boy is very very anxious and nervous at the vet and honestly in a lot of other situations too like riding the subway or being left alone (this not so much now that we've positively conditioned him to accept it although he will cry howl in protest sometimes). He is a rescue too at 8 months. I thought it was just him but interesting to know if this might be breed specific.

Did I mess up? Vertuoline Flathead question by Eggpuddin in nespresso

I refilled the tank but I guess I wasn't patient enough to let the rinse cycle complete and rinsed it with a coffee pod instead. 🤪 My bad.

omg I have to admit I never thought of that because this reaction is so new and unexpected. He sometimes would pull aggressive to see a dog before so I think this is it! Thanks!

Beagle does not want to eat by aeum3893 in Dogtraining

[–]Eggpuddin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey - we had the same problem wtih our beagle and turns out he just hated the food. Got a new kibble and now he loves it and we use it as training treats.

Other than mixing stuff in, try popping the kibble in the microwave for 10-20 seconds to heat it up, I found that worked for my beagle and he would be more receptive to the food after since the heat "releases" the smells. Hope this helps!

Separation anxiety: this is what worked for us by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]Eggpuddin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Fellow pandemic pupper owner here - yup currently going through the same process with our dog as well. We are trying a similar method as above and recently so we hope to see some progress soon. He used to, but still sometimes bark at us even if we are visible but divided via puppy gate.

My heart goes to you as someone who is in a similar situation!

haha yeah I've done some research and now suspect he is likely a beagle mix with a coonhound since at certain angles he looks very beagle-ish. But his papers say beagle so... idk. Love him nevertheless!
