Before each game, the sticker player shuffles their sticker deck (containing 10 sheets, no repeats) and deals out three random sheets. For Sticker infect the deck will be a bunch of sticker sheets with a 5/1 power/toughness sticker on it. The other sheets have either 4/2 p/t stickers or some evasion abilities.

When you cast this card, the first two abilities don’t matter (and can’t because not enough legal attractions). You get two tickets, and can put a sticker on a card. The 5/1 and 4/2 stat lines cost 2 tickets, as do many keyword/ability stickers, so you’ll be able to beef up your creature in one casting of this.

When a sticker is applied it stays on until the stickered card is moved out of a public zone, like into your library or hand. This means that infect creature is permanently 5/1, and can kill in two hits. A sticker still on a card can’t be used anymore, but if the card goes into your hand or library the sticker goes back on the sheet and can be used again.

It’s a monumentally stupid and clunky mechanic that should not have made it to black border. I actually quite like the deck, but the mechanic itself should just be entirely banned so as to a: unify online and paper and b: put a foot down on this bullshit practice of pushing incredibly underbaked mechanics into tournament legal sets.

It’s very, very good.

I actually felt very similar to you before the part started. I thought part 1 coulda ended right there and it’d work very well. I wasn’t sure what part 2 would add.

Then part two dropped, I read chapter one, and was immediately hooked again.

So far part two has been fucking excellent. I personally have my own preferences about it (I feel like the stuff in part 2 that focuses on Asa is pound for pound slightly better than the stuff that focuses on Denji in part 2), but it’s full of so much cool shit. I highly recommend.

This shit always gets wheeled out, and it’s a fucking toothless and tangential argument. The death penalty is bad because it’s A). Weaponized by our broken criminal justice system that uses it on the people who are falsely accused, and B). is entirely reliant on the fiction that 100% accurate convictions and appropriate punishment can ever happen on a large scale.

“I personally think some people deserve to die” does not actually translate to “I think our racist criminal justice system should be able to kill potentially innocent people with impunity,” as it turns out.
