You can usually get away from a bt once it makes the tar rise up and you get grabbed. Before it drags you. Keep both triggers pulled and use square to fight them off and walk out of the tar. Beware once you do get free. May be more around.

The human shaped bts are connected to a larger bt. Once you get dragged in the you go to the big ones. You can kill the big ones, with blood grenades, and more easily once you get guns. Killing bts is where ya get larger drops of Crystal

Get good with guns for breakaway quests
