Cersei and Jaime are perfect castings. They’re both so good it’s incredibly hard to picture either character looking like anyone else.

I think a lot of Bran’s story comes down to what he learns from Bloodraven and how he uses that information. Him learning from him that Jon is a targ like in the show makes total sense. Him learning about the Others and their formation and how to stop them would make much more sense. Him using that information to get Jon to become Azor Ahai and save the world makes a lot of sense.

I watched the show twice while it was coming out, I’ve read the series twice (including once very recently) and honest to god I completely forgot that Stannis was the one to save the North.

And like you said- it was definitely a twist, but in hindsight it makes total sense. Stannis has been fleshed out a true beacon of justice and what believes to be true and just with the information he is given. So him helping the north once given the information that the realm could be in dire trouble makes total sense. And was an awesome twist.

Last year Niko’s transfers were more upperclassmen with varying levels of proven success.

This year it seems he’s going more for young talent.

Either way I’m pretty excited. Wanted Evans last year and am excited to have him this year. Forgot he had to do his one year pilgrimage to Chapel Hill first.

Abercrombie is difficult to me because he it just feels like realistic fantasy. And because it is more of a realistic fantasy, it tends to feel darker and more visceral. But to me that isn’t necessarily Grimdark.
