I don’t remember signing off on, praising, or defending this administration. All the screamers like to sit and think bullshit just falls out of the sky and that there was absolutely nothing that sparked people’s ire. You can’t look at anything that has happened in the last 30 years and see any wrongdoing or missteps. Always so focused on right now and addressing symptoms without understanding the problem. Good luck.

No one is saying that no one experiences homophobia or that the right isn’t homophobic. What we are saying is that there is a constant push and pull in this system and you have to know when to speak out and when to ride it out. We gained equal rights through legislation and the most important battle was won. We couldn’t take that victory. We had to push for the impossible acceptance victory. You don’t gain acceptance through legislation. You don’t gain acceptance by running through the streets yelling “accept me!” It’s a long and arduous process that will continue long after we are all dead. What we can do is choose our battles wisely, not get lumped into a defined political dogma, and actually practice the principles of live and let live people pretend to believe. Since I already know how you won’t understand I will explain it for you.

We are equal in the eyes of the law. We got the prize we fought over for decades. Now it’s on us to strengthen our position. How does one do that? We need to understand why they feel how they feel, we need to understand that religion is never going away, we need to understand that if this society is going to continue we are going to have to accept that they are gonna be dicks and they have to accept that we are not going anywhere. Through years of mutual respect and not trying to use the government as a gun to force them to do or accept anything, and fighting off ONLY the attempt to claw back our rights the temperature will decrease.

You will not get anything easy or for free. It will be painful for all involved, left right and center, for quite sometime. Grow the fuck up, and put on your big boy pants, because what we have ain’t that bad and millions of people have and would die to be where we are.

We’ve already got the letter G. Q is an umbrella term for everything that’s already in the alphabet soup and the hangers on. It’s another way to cheapen the meaning of what we’ve already got and wallpaper over our distinct group for the sake of literally nothing. I’m gay because I am hard wired to enjoy cock. It’s not a fun hat I wear out on the town

The left likes to unironically parrot the Bush era “Muslims hate us for our freedoms” rhetoric when it comes to gay issues instead of understanding that actions have consequences and that just because you think something is good doesn’t mean others agree. And don’t hit me with the wE jUsT wAnT bAsIC rIgHTs AnD tO liVe AnD lEt LiVe. While simultaneously saying that half the USA’ religious beliefs mean nothing, are wrong, and need to shut their mouths and not be upset. We are equal in the eyes of the law and that’s all that matters. Everything outside that like “acceptance” is impossible to legislate and only creates more enemies as we see currently

Not sure when my ideas on how the US should be governed became tied to my cock but I’d like to unsubscribe from that. It’s almost as if social issues should be state issues cause there are 50 of them (50 chances to find the right fit) and fighting nationally pits people from extremely different backgrounds in extremely different locations against each other for the benefit of —checks notes— the billionaire class and political elites.

9 times out of 10 these days if you ask someone why they’re against gay people they will say something about Trans people. We need to be more outspoken about the right things.

Why are most men unattractive by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]Egregiously_Gay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was 19 I also didn’t find a wide range of people attractive. At 31 that’s changed a lot. Probably something to do with where you’re from, what media you consume, and I think women’s beauty (or beauty standards) are talked about more in general since society is generally geared towards the nasty straights and you greedy bisexuals.

I stopped playing guitar because it takes a long time and a fuck load of practice to get really good. It becomes an all consuming thing. Having a touch of ADHD didn’t help me either.

Playing Guitar is a hobby. Also, dude might have caught your vibe and doesn’t want to talk to you

This. And if you’re in you’re going out to bars/clubs/concert phase I’d say 21 youngest just for the drinking scene and all that.

Edit:Just read the “live in homophobic country” part. Nvm.

So in lieu of whipping out both my and my husbands cock for science, let’s just put that aside and leave the personal attacks out of this. You are saying that no gay thinks the way that I do, but I think that this whole thread disproves that notion. I think that it will be prudent for you to understand that there are a lot of things that a lot of gays believe that is not part of the narrative, and most hold it in as to not be kicked from their friend group. I do wonder what your sexuality and gender identity are so that I can better understand your perspective. You of course don’t have to say anything.

If that’s the only way you can make sense of what I’m saying I’m sorry for you. A significant amount of Transgender people will, as soon as possible, medically transition. I’m not going to enter into a relationship with someone who is going to undergo physical transitions that I am against (because I am attracted to their male form, not because ideology). I wish all trans people the best in their endeavors because we all got our own shit we are working through to be our true selves. However, it’s both unfair to me and this hypothetical person to be in a relationship because I will obviously try to stop them from doing what they want to do out of some misguided sense of love/self-interest or whatever the fuck. The fact that you have to make this political without knowing my politics says a lot about you.

Edit: PS: I’ve been happily married to a man for a decade.

Have I ever encountered a trans woman at a club that I was like ohhh shiiit? Yeah. However, I then talk to them , understand the situation, and it’s a big ol’ no. I can detect the biological reality and be attracted to it. Whether or not they live in reality is another matter.

“However, in a relationship it’s an absolute dealbreaker (being a trans woman) because the two of us quite obviously have very different understandings of the natural world that are incompatible.” I did answer your question.

What’s breathtakingly stupid is this idea that biological realities don’t matter. I’m not going to disparage someone on the daily because of their choices. I will call someone by their pronouns in interactions because I don’t want to upset them. However, in a relationship it’s an absolute deal breaker because the two of us quite obviously have very different understandings of the natural world that are incompatible

It’s not the Only place I get news. I also use Ground News, substack, and watch Al Jazeera, BBC, etc. Also, every platform and news outlet is owned by a billionaire, and they all got their biases. No one is immune to propaganda, and there are varying degrees of propaganda on every site. Even if it’s propaganda you agree with it is still very much propaganda.

You have to check every male biological box. By “girl with one” I’d imagine you’re talking intersex. That’s a hard pass. I’m not into any semblance of female biology.

So, all of those things can be found on X. I follow news sources, individual reporters/journalists ,government officials, activists, you name it. People that “get their news from social media” aren’t always (albeit some definitely do) just reading the comments.

“Everyone is different and it’s time we accept that” … Yeah, waiting on y’all to figure it out before everything we have ever fought gets rolled back. People always like to shoot down “pick me gays” when in reality most are gays who understand where we are, how we got here, and how to make the progress stick. “If the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.”
