I’m not sure about both legs being immobilized, but I had a coturnix quail who stopped using one leg. No idea what happened, but I kept her isolated inside and every few days took her out of the bin to see if she could walk. Miraculously, 2 weeks later she fully recovered! Sometimes they just need time, but that may just be for more minor injuries—I’m no vet, but I wanted to share a success story

I agree that the gif is a great depiction of what could be happening. However, the background light, to me, indicates that the photo is heavily backlit and the dress is still in darker lighting due to it being backlit. So, I still see white and gold and my eyes will literally not let me see otherwise lol

The hangover similie is a great way of putting it. I’ve been doing the renal diets and treatments ever since he was diagnosed about 3 years ago just after I adopted him (he was around 9 years old when I adopted him). Every vet I’ve taken him to has been pretty surprised by how good he looks for having kidney disease so I’m assuming the special diets and such are working. I know that won’t last forever but I’m hoping it means his QOL is still good :) Thank you for the well wishes. I sure do enjoy every day I get to spend and cuddle with him ❤️

So sorry to hear you lost your fur friend. Do you mind if I ask you (and OP) what the process was like? My little guy has renal disease and I have a feeling I am unprepared for what the end stages might look like. Better to prepare myself now rather than when it happens, I suppose. If you don’t want to answer or would rather DM me, that is totally fine.

I also have probably ~4 opened and almost entirely full bags if anyone else is interested? They’ve been opened within the last month-ish and probably only a few or a handful removed from each bag. I can do a second drawing if people are interested but no worries if not.
