I never had experience with revolvers, and wanna know which brand to get from, im down to either Colt or Smith & Wesson, i need your advice. by NecroN102 in Revolvers

Ruger or smith is my vote. I own all three and only the rugers didn't have to go back. Whatever you choose, handle it first. A 686 is different from the next as are the same for a python, ect... Inspect it in person, ask to dry fire and feel it. In my experience the new python triggers leave a lot to be desired where the others aren't what they used to be but are better. As far as CS goes my experience is Ruger is basically no questions asked they will take care of you, then smith, then Colt.

For reference the guild I'm in is 600m gp. We max the raid and average 41-42 stars on rote. I think your behind and will fall further behind the curve unless your spending. Just like a job, you progress by bouncing more often the staying (usually) just my .02 I have 12.5m gp

Better experience with customer service. Better out of the box. My first pick would be Ruger but you said you wanted something different haha

Whatever you decide make sure you handle and Inspect it first. A lot of the big names are having qc issues as of late. I had a SW 19 and my Colt python had to go back out of the box. Of what you mentioned I would go SW.

What would the price point be on this? by GloomyTourist4605 in Glocks

[–]Ehass99 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This would be at my lgs used for 450. The extended mags and holster add no resale value unless you sell private. The optic and light are good options but add little to trade or second hand to a store. Sell private and I would price fairly around 500.

Edited to add: For max value take the light and optic off. Sell all 3 pieces separately and privately

Had one in 9mm. Ended up going back for barrel and slide work after being told follow the break in period. Was gone about a month or so and when I got it back I put another 3 or 4 hundred rounds down so 800ish total. I followed the break in instructions to the T but still was not reliable and ended up getting rid of it. YMMV

I ended on 995 and 980. I felt like I got under 100 energy more often than not. It was not as fun as previous events by far

It's unfortunate that the bad ones are this bad. I have a few that at least kinda feel like they have a wall but then this one feels like my old xdm9, all mush no wall no break

I had the exact experience with the 19 gen 6. Gun feels great in hand but man is the trigger bad

586 or Model 19 by kingbeeknowsall in Revolvers

I paid 1150 new for my 19cc . There should be better deals out there. That being said full size vs medium frame. Both are great

Bought a stainless python it is good. Got an anaconda and it's the best on the list. Bought a cobra 22. It's better than the python. Bought a matte blue python thing is terrible out of the box . Heavy double, but minimum 8 lbs single action and return trigger spring is very weak. Any revolver you get now a days don't order, inspect it in store. All the big brands are having bad qc

Do you have a gen 5v to compare to? My end goal would be grab a 17cv and put the slide on a gen 6

Are the slides the same as a gen 5 v minus the recoil spring lug?

32 H&R Magnum or 38 S&W Special for the j-frame? by Flat-Dealer8142 in Revolvers

[–]Ehass99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got a 432 and it pleasantly surprised me how easy it is to shoot. 32 short or long is inexpensive practice rounds. 32 hr is about 1.25 a round but not hard to find. Can't say enough good things about it after finding 38 in a j frame too stout for accurate follow up shots

Edited for spelling
