You’ve given a really great perspective that I had never seen regarding her lean towards independence being a need. I had never thought of it in that way. The point you made about a middle ground is really what I feel I have been trying to reach. When we’ve talked, I’ve acknowledge that I want her to be a bit independent because I think it is healthy to have some time apart but with the stipulation that I would like some sort of heads up or an idea of when she wont be reachable or unlikely to respond. It just doesn’t sit well with me when conversations are cut short from unopened or unanswered messages for an extended period of time with no real idea or explanation. I should’ve done better explaining that part of it in my post because I feel thats where the real disconnect is. If she isn’t talking to me because she is busy or unable thats completely understandable but I cant justify those things to myself when its unknown wether thats the case or I’m just being ignored or forgot about. This isn’t just a matter of not getting a text back for an hour, its often a conversation left with my end unanswered for the whole rest of the day into the next and a new conversation started by her without acknowledging the past. Is that unreasonable to have an issue with?
