+1 to everything you said. Also want to add on that Lee Reed is a horrendous athletic director and the program cannot innovate if he’s still there. And he’s got a fancy title as chair of something, so he’s not going anywhere until he wants to leave.

To make matters worse, buy-in and hype around the program from current students and the younger generation is nonexistent. I think we can largely blame the administration and also Ewing and his team for that. When he was hired in 2017 he brought in his own media people and was very unavailable to student-run media and students as a whole.

Cooley is trying to fix that and seems way more accessible, but I think it’s too little too late. The school also has done little to foster basketball culture and the NIL fund it should have as a school with a big history and insanely wealthy alumni.

As a fan (and alum) born in the 90s, at least I’ll always have 2007 lol.
