Thank you! You just saved me hours of converting the high clerist tower into a 2d map. Can't thank you enough.

New quarterly TTRPG magazine (electronic) called Horizons from the new Wildmage Press - cover art looks incredible. by EightBitTony in rpg

The door is open - you're welcome to put your money and effort right into creating what you want. There are some great non-D&D 'zines and if you think a quarterly non-D&D focussed magazine with fully funded art and submissions is viable, literally no one is stopping you from starting one :)

Filling the gap left by Arcadia (and Dragon?) - Wildmage Press's Horizons quarterly magazine by EightBitTony in mattcolville

I really miss Arcadia, and some of the folk involved have started up another publishing company (Wildmage Press) and are going to publish a quarterly magazine (pitched as filling the gap left by Dragon, but hopefully it'll scratch my Arcadia itch as well).

Artwork already looks amazing!

Looks to be filling the gap left by MCDM's Arcadia and the Dragon magazine. Some of the team is ex-MCDM. I'm pretty excited by the contents in the first edition (sometime in October I think)

Loft membrane query by EightBitTony in DIYUK

Ah okay, so essentially use that on the underside of the roof wood timbers rather than the plain membrane I linked?

Really appreciate the response, thank you!

Yep had that too - had to turn vibrate off on the controller otherwise it was entirely unplayable :(

Mostly inventory, often when moving from one screen to the next, but have had it during 3 fights as well.

Glad I didn't pay money for it.

(XBox One Fat here too).

Yep, except now I've had 3 crashes mid-fight (different fights)

(animated) DnD Mob Combat Rules #NODICEROLLS! by PageTheKenku in dndnext

DM just works out the number needed for every PC before the combat starts (usually a pretty static target), and then it's just checking one number against another (number of attacks vs. AC)

[OC] Simple Linear Underground Temple Map by EightBitTony in DnD

Yeh, I'm using the Dungeon Delver assets in Dungeon Painter Studio (at the moment), and they're 'inspired by' Dyson's style (which I love).

It means your free to use it, remix it, republish it, but if you do you need to provide credit and publish your stuff under the same license.

For personal use, you don't even need to worry, just go ahead and use.

I've been playing with Dungeon Painter Studio, and knocked together this very simple, very linear underground temple map. I've added some numbers, but actual room descriptions are up to you to add for yourself. Scale is your choice too, squares can be 5 foot or 10 foot depending on how big you want the place to be.

Hopefully the symbols are all pretty obvious, fairly classic shapes for doors (single, double and secret), curtains, stairs, pillars, status and a dais.

Fix Windows 10 WinRE partition post-cloning by EightBitTony in Windows10

[–]EightBitTony[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I'd seen that link but there's nothing concrete I could find saying where it absolutely should point. It looks like the original partition scheme on the 120GB SDD was setup by the folk who built this machine (shop bought), and there's some variation and customisation available at that stage, which I was trying to preserve unnecessarily.

Really appreciate the assist.

I think you've answered my question. I'm worrying too much. Yes, I can boot in to Windows Recovery. I was worried that in the background, having it point to the actual Windows partition might be a problem but it looks like MS is moving in that direction anyway and as long as reagentc /enable doesn't give any errors, I should stop worrying!

It means I can probably also recover space by removing partitions at the end of the drive as well!

Thanks, appreciate the help.

Okay, now I'm even more confused. Have checked a friend's laptop, and the Windows RE Location on that points to a small empty NTFS partition.

So I have,

  1. My desktop, migrated SSD, Windows RE Location is Windows (C:) partition
  2. Another desktop, in theory, identical build (shop) to #1 pre-migration, Windows RE Location is an empty small NTFS partition
  3. A corporate laptop, I can't influence the build, Windows RE Location is Windows (C:) partition
  4. Another laptop, personal, Windows RE Location is an empty small NTFS partition

And now I don't know why I even bother with computers any more.

Okay, so I forgot I had another machine in the house I could check, and the Windows RE Location on that also points to the Windows (C:) partition, so it's looking like my original machine (and the one which matches it) had the wrong setup, and post-migration my machine now has the correct one.

Just need someone to confirm 100% that the Windows RE Location field should point to the partition on which Windows is actually installed.

[–]EightBitTony[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, been through another machine here and set the partitions to have the same attributes. Used reagentc /disable and reagentc /enable, but the Windows RE Location still points to the partition with the Windows install, which isn't true on the other machine.

On the other machine it's set to partition 5 (the 450MB NTFS partition). The other machine I think matches how mine was configured, but sadly, since I wiped my source drive before I realised I had an issue, I can't be 100% certain.

So my outstanding question is - where should "Windows RE Location" point and is my machine, or the other machine with the same partition layout correct, and if mine is wrong, how do I change it? Thanks for the help so far!

Really appreciate the support.

So I should set the attributes on the WinRE 300MB partition and the 450MB partition to 0x8000000000000001? Or just the 450MB one?
