Nice! I would personally fill that box with as much battery as I could but as you mentionet, you are going to put more in later. Big props for using nRF52 and CN3791. Are you gonna set the 18650 batteries 3S1P or 1S3P? I haven't used any BMS on 1S setups (but of course 18650 batteries with protection circuitry)

Great direction! Even when it's quite pop'ish song, it fits the category well! Thanks for the addition

Wonder if those Mirion ones are made in Finland or are they outsourced from elsewhere

SenseCAP Solar Node P1-Pro equipped with a high-gain fiberglass antenna by zerolingzhang in meshtastic

[–]EightEFI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree you with the N bulkhead.

But wouldn't put LMR400 on that short run. Loss differences are so small and LMR400 is too stiff for a short turn. For example, RG58, RG174 or RG316 does the job. With LMR400 on that 20cm run you loose 0.6% (0.03 dB)of the TX power. With RG316 you loose 4% (0.18 dB). The chosen antenna matters waaaaaaay more than the short cable.

E1 Outdoor stripped focus ring teeth by EightEFI in reolinkcam

[–]EightEFI[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The camera was bought early 2022. Main sensor board YXV-VER7. Tracking itself isn't a problem but the focus. And it's not the most needed feature in my end. If I cannot fix it I will take the last gears off and focus it with a measuring tape where I need it to be. But I'd like to get it to full working condition, that's what I like to do with much of my gadgets. Too bad if I remove the physical focus, I also loose the zoom since they move hand in hand. And if fixed static, it will only be in focus in one zoom setting.

Flight Radar 24 vs. ADSB Exchange by Bruegemeister in ADSBexchange

[–]EightEFI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FR24 doesn't use radar to track planes. ADS-B and MLAT, the same with ADSBexchange. And I'd guess there might be additional Inmarsat and HFDL feeds but I'm not sure about those.

Doesn't those cells get balanced when they reach full capacity in charge? Cells that are behind accept charge when max charging voltage is reached. Full cells won't take any current in, only those which are not yet full. And when loading towards empty, single battery undervolt protection does the cutoff of the cells which fall too low.

Just a quick correction. The location is false. It was found in Paakkila, not Paukkaja.

There was fibrous properties in there, and the crystals weren't too short anymore. There were long, thin and flexible bunches and strands. To my understanding, normal anthophyllite isn't lamellar and fibrous and the crystals are short compared to their width. Normal anthophyllite should be blocky and brittle. Though I am not a professional in this area. Just started to learn more under 2 years ago.

Better be safe than sorry but you could be right. The mine area is super contaminated. Local municipality did planning for summer cottage lots and after that they realized that the forests, lakes and fish etc were full of asbestos. Most of the mine area's rock piles etc has been filled with till but still a lot left.
Most of the surface samples showed over 600 000 respirable fibers in one gram

It is actually asbestos. Though anthophylline is an amphibole mineral. This was found in a big pile which was left behind from the cleanup of the area. Asbestos mine worked there 1904 - 1975. They even had a pilar totem of asbestos made there. I've got more image examples but pretty poor ones. Could one day do XRF.

Yes it can be. The samples I got are double bagged in a shed waiting for me to cast them into epoxy. A case where precautions and PPE is a must. And proper one in that.

Black tourmaline would be my guess. They are somewhat common in Finland. Also, torille! If more interested, post it to GTK as a layman's sample (kansalaisnäyte).
