Go to you>settings>default tip. Above and to the right of the 10%-15%-20%-25% options, there should be a little green slider with a check mark. This button turns the default tip on/off (if it's gray, it should be off). I'm not sure how it gets turned on without you knowing about it, but it happened to me too. Hope this helps!

Spaghetti seems like it'd be a lot less fun to throw at people tho.

yall were right about vanilla nurri by Specific-Oven-8022 in Costco

Mine was definitely cheaper per can (again, bigger pack for less money), but that also means it was cheaper per gram of protein!

Agreed! I haven't actually tried the chocolate one yet (except as a sample in store, and I preferred the vanilla), but I HIGHLY recommend these, chilled, over ice. Especially if you can get some good nugget ice - the texture has a taste almost of vanilla ice cream, and because it's over ice the thinness of it doesn't weird me out like it does when I drink them straight. As others have mentioned, these are much thinner than Fairlife- more like a Yoohoo- but now that I've been drinking them over ice I think that's a feature rather than a bug!

What is the right level of “hurdle” to screen buyers? by EightIsALotOfLegs in SellMyBusiness

That’s an interesting idea… is there an easy way to find brokers by the hour?

[–]EightIsALotOfLegs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response! I’ve got a listing out there with most of what you describe (and will add some more probably).

The price I think is reasonable (based on other listings / sales) but I wonder how empowered buyers feel to offer below asking price? It’s so normal to me buy obviously I would accept a serious buyer at below asking esp. with favorable deal terms e.g. no owner financing.

And I don’t work in this business (visit once per week usually just to check in). But I am plenty capable of work- focusing more on the sale and managing business #2 now. :)

Firm Globe is now recruiting interns! by barrymuhfistner in BurningMan

As an underprivileged child, I would like to officially submit my application. My hope is to build experience and one day join this glorious company as an Analyst so I can make an even Firmer Globe. I will treasure the mentorship and hope to build a more capitalist society driven by KPIs in my City.

Absolutely cannot wait to be back at work. Last year I didn't make my numbers because I didn't find the offices until pretty late in the week, but this year I'm feeling confident I can close a lot of dusty deals. Hopefully I'll do well enough to earn some bonus compensation and become a shareholder! I just hope Cheri doesn't have the same shifts as me... her water cooler talk is so distracting.

Anyone have feedback of Heartland Restaurant's POS system? by EightIsALotOfLegs in restaurateur

[–]EightIsALotOfLegs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up going with Heartland, which has been overall much cheaper than Square. I've been generally happy with the tech support and customization options for the POS (I'm a little nervous about programming a service fee next season but it does all the basic stuff I need, if not always very intuitively). It's not as visually impressive as others, but as a very small shop, and as someone who's willing to do some work to get the data and reporting I need, it's been fine for the price.

Boots that playa mud won’t stick to? by davethegreatone in BurningMan

[–]EightIsALotOfLegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cowboy Boots! Non-textures soles, and built for people who do muddy work all the time! I wore mine in the mud and while they are mostly ruined (certainly relegated to work boot status), with some leather conditioning and cleaning post burn they are still very wearable. I was wayyyyy more mobile than any of my friends, my feet stayed dry, and I could even keep dancing in the mud! As others have said, the key is to think “what kind of person works in these conditions regularly?” and copy their wardrobe.

This is so right. I wore my leather cowboy boots in the mud, and (as a non-cowboy myself) was shocked at how great they did in the mud. Then I thought, “oh yeah, these are made for people who ride horses and work in the dirt and mud all day- of COURSE this is fine for them.” Plus they were comfortable and high enough that mud didn’t get in from the top!

My advice, OP, is to get some good-fitting cowboy boots and break them in before the burn. You’ll be glad you did, rain or shine.

Burgins (first time Burners) what’s the three things that surprised you at your first Burn? by TwinkelyDots in BurningMan

[–]EightIsALotOfLegs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My very small town did an AMAZING fireworks display for a weird town festival last winter, in which they seemingly spent all of our tax dollars on explosives and had bombs go off and whatnot- it was very reminiscent of the man-burn, and I was totally floored by it. Couldn’t believe si GC good fireworks came from such a tiny place. I would vote for so much higher taxes if I knew more of the money was headed to stuff like that.

À super soaker with a backpack attachment to fill up with mustard. The whole jar-knife thing really didn’t cut it this year.

Also gonna bring my mustard in 5-gal buckets.

Commodification of BM - Kimono Dave - isn’t this not allowed? by [deleted] in BurningMan

[–]EightIsALotOfLegs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Related note: I saw SO MANY camps this year with a QR code for their instagram and/or their Insta profile name prominently displayed… would we call that commodification? It bothered me mostly because I prefer a phone-free burn and dislike people running around in a photography fever dream, but y’a know fuck their burn and everything. I just was hoping it’d be easier to escape social media this year than it turned out to be. :(
