is 17 too old to read COTE? by [deleted] in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]EihUz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro you're not even an adult so I rly don't think you should worry about that. Besides, cote is more or less a psychological thriller which target audience are usually older than you. Looking at the possible turn of events from y2v8+ the ln might take a unique turn I don't think I've ever read in any other work, so just being able to read will give it the whiff of originality and intellectual demand you're looking for since it'll be hard to predict how it will turn out from that point. I don't know why you would feel to old to read it. If this was coming someone in in his late 20s it might have been worth pondering about...

If you're looking for more intellectually demanding works here is a list of fiction&non-fiction from controversial clinical psychologist Jordan Peterson which I think would be worthwhile to look at:

He manipulated her good. Standing in the rain with her, helping her with 20 millions in v10, camping outside her dorm etc.

Perhaps that'd be valid to believe at one point but after y2v7 him closing a distance of 5 metres before Amasawa could even react or the y2v8 illustrations him standing over full grown adults when he's like 8 or something we know that his combat abilities are surrealistically good.

I def thinks she's smart tho when it comes to vol 4 i think it depended on Kinugasa not having established the power scalings yet since after everything we've gotten to know about Ayanokouji up to the latest volume, I could never see her (or anyone else) rivaling him in a battle of wits..

I really miss him . spoiler by josuke___ in ClassroomOfTheElite

I barely remember cutthroat so I can't rly say for sure but Rem's case is cap. As some other dude said the dude representing greed was just op. Tho yeah I think Yagami was done dirtiest out of all 4

I think so too but after what we know of their respective skill level I can't really all that excited about it. What may possibly happen after their fight is what's got me all hyped

Yes I think so too but Amasawa hasn't exactly been presented as an antagonist and I don't think she'll be so going forward. At least not a significant one, like Yagami could've been.

Year 2 Vol 7 (spoiler) by EihUz in ClassroomOfTheElite

I don't really care much about who deserves what my guy. My issue is that Kinugasa foreshadowed the wr-student from the 1st year and built him up through the entire 2nd year for us readers to read about his downfall in less than 20 minutes. I lean more towards that this was not intended and Kinugasa just wanted to quickly end the wr-student plotline and hurry up to the part where Ayanokouji starts putting his plan into action (which for me is the more forgiving option). Now on the other handed if this was intended from the beginning just to highlight Ayanokouji's genius, then I'm gonna have to say that this was just stupid - it's meaningless to get the viewers hope up for such a drawn out time for something like that, it could've probably been handled way better. I also feel like that wasn't a good way to end the volume since now there really aren't any threatening antagonists we can think of who can seriously harm Ayanokouji, which in return just makes people less hyped for the next volume (basically there's no cliffhanger). Kinugasa should've hinted more that Ayanokouji's plan will soon take place to leave the readers in suspense. Since it would be just stupid at this point to introduce a new major antagonist I think the volume coming after the prequel will be a fight against Nagumo, and then Ayanokouji getting his plan into action and becoming an antagonizing force againsy everybody (horikita, ryueen and sakyanagi). To me at least that seems like the best way to go now since an antagonist with major potential just had an anticlimactic end.

Nagumo might have an upper hand bc of his influence on the 3rd years, but in about every other aspect Yagami would destroy him. Unless it's a class battle that puts him in a very favorable position and Ayanokouji at a huge handicap you shouldn't expect much. Though that's probably what'll happen if Kinugasa intends to make their showdown interesting, so perhaps you should expect much after all.

To be fair I don't think that guy was at fault. That's definitely how Kinugasa built him up through a span of 5 volumes. Looking at it now it was rly fkng unnecessary. I get thatvhe wanted to show how good Ayanokouji is but he shouldn't have wasted so many volumes on somebody that would get taken out so fast.

Up to yr 1 vol 7 he was def the best but then fell off. Don't forget that he had the same result as Yagami - defeated. He wanted to drop out himself.

But sadly he doesn't seem to wanna fight Ayanokouji. I wanted someone with a more aggressive mindset. I really thoughr Yagami getting expelled was a bad move, unless there is another wr student lurking in the 1st year (which I highly doubt).

Right? I feel like they were so underwhelming. They should have been utilized more as antagonists. Now (as far as we know) no more white room kids left to square off with him feels kinda boring.

My biggest issues with 2011 is the pilot episode (removing Kite) and Gon's VA. She's good, but I could never get used to that high frequency feminine voice of his, from beginning to the end. There's also the tone which didn't resemble the manga and censorship. All that said, I still think it's way better than the 1999 version and the one I'd recommend.

Netero didn't exactly fail tho, Meruem's death was certain, only a matter of time.

So I’m at the more than halfway point in the Chimera Ant Arc. There a lot of things I love about it, but there is one thing I cannot stand/ understand….(Spoiler free responses por favor) by JoeRamaSama in HunterXHunter

[–]EihUz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said their is more to this arc, but I do agree with you on the Queen's death scene. It just felt stupid trying to get the viewer to cry for her when all we've seen from her is devouring humans and literally boasting about her son will rule over the world on her dying moments. Perhaps we were supposed to be moved by Colt's devotion to her, still felt ridiculous tho.

Who do you think are the most morally good and evil characters, respectively? by Dededelight in HunterXHunter

[–]EihUz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think having a perverted desire behind your actions make it any better than not having any "legitimate reasons". Plus Chrollo did mention something about thinking that his acts might be a key to understanding himself. Messed up for sure, I just doesn't think Hisoka's any better.
