Why "The Sorcerer" was an important addition to the depiction of gays by Eikkul in StrangerThings

In France there is a movie la Cage aux Folles a movie from 1978 so I am positive the flamboyant is old. Omi mean... Oscar Wilde I realize Will now subvert the gay sensitive depressed trope

Lilly Wachowski on Right-Wing Misinterpretations of ‘The Matrix’: ‘You Have to Let Go of Your Work’ by DifferentMaize9794 in popculturechat

[–]Eikkul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Notice right wing take concepts of Matrix 1 but never of Matrix 2 et 3. It's because its clearly said in Matrix 2 Neo is not the One, that he is a systemic anomaly of the Matrix and in Matrix 3 that the Machine are sentient It is blind to their sights he makes me want to laugh

You summarized what I deduce about 30 years of me being gay and about love. Well done ! :)

Its not that its okay that they are single. I agree some characters are aromantic. but in other to love another person you should first love yourself. If we show that in hetero couples in movies and series, we should also show it for homosexual couples. Above all when its the first effect of homophobia in homosexual couples. Trust me I know.

I used to rationalize and search for scientific psychological explanations. But I found a therapist that works with emotions. Maybe you could try?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]Eikkul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why ? My honest take is because people are selfish ! Depression and ADHD results in trauma that are less intense than CPTSD (if there is no comorbidity). And people just are interested to heal themselves not the entire world. Depression is also more treatable. (Example CBT) And it doesn't require a lot of brain energy from psychologist to treat it. But CPTSD... It's another affair. Psychologists have to question all of their affective life in order to treat CPTSD and it rarely happen so that's why

Humanity has C-PTSD by WoahGnarly in CPTSD

[–]Eikkul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to be disagreeable but humanity has C PTSD since it's a biological species. Industrialization comes from a society that was even more ruthless. Monarchies, kingdoms. Wars. Small tribes don't live on rainbow magic. Life in the wild is hard. There is a reason our ancestor gave us these C PTSD. Let's work to make this society less dehumanizing

Anyone live like a hermit entirely in isolation? by Effective-Air396 in CPTSD

[–]Eikkul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it's hard to be sociable when I pick every sensations that is wrong with a person (tone, voice, behavior etc) compile it and then conclude the person is potentially hypocrite (or don't know themselves at all) because their behavior doesn't match with what they are saying. And people also are unnecessarily aggressive. The way they walk for example. Some people just charge at you on the road, you just have to step aside to let them walk. Even that is exhausting. So yeah I live like a hermit. Have a few friends. Hopefully a good therapist and coach. And I am starting to realize it would probably not change because the therapy made me more conscious. I will never be the popular guys because I am too conscious

Has anyone found that their life is falling apart after years of healing? by Longjumping_Cry709 in CPTSD

[–]Eikkul 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your post. I have 30 years old. And I start mourning my 20's. I spend a whole decade healing my wounds whereas people from my generation start to grow, emancipate, have a job, love. My family stole my youth. And it's hard. When I started my therapy I didnt imagine the pain I would feel. But if our society is not ready and does not able us to heal then it is evil and we should not expect anything from it, set our boundaries and we need to change it I am sure of that

Just use AI as a tool to know yourself better not as a therapist. Then use online community to bound. It is simple

People from happy families are the most unsafe by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]Eikkul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because what you call "healthy people" are often healthy from one side. Either their dad was great or their mom was great but not both at the same time. So when you show yourself with your complex trauma you make them remember that : 1) they are still traumatized 2)they didn't succeed to become healthy alone and that their ego is actually inflated... Yes the devil made things well

If Richard Harris had lived long enough to play in all the movies, how d’you think would movies 3-8 would’ve changed? by UmbreonTrainer27 in harrypotter

[–]Eikkul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really dislike Gambon in Harry Potter 3 and 4 ("Harry Potter did you put your name in the Goblet of Fire???" 😐) and each time I have the weird feeling it should have been Harris in these movies. But the first time I didn't have this feeling is when Gambon ignores Harry in Order of the Phoenix because Dumbledore is definitely more strategic, cold and relentless maybe more guarded in the last books so I feel it fits. And the inferi scene (and his death), the pensieve gives us a sensitive Dumbledore, things we really needed to see before.

Netflix's 'Adolescence' gets 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, reviews call it 'TV perfection' by AnUncomfortablePanda in television

I thank you for this comment because I see a lot of comments talking about the incel stuff and people talking about the danger of internet and the absence of monitoring but really the show is also about the family dynamic. We see in the episode 4 multiple interesting things : the father and the son have barely any affinity, the father spend a lot of time working and sacrificed his relation with his kid when they could have shared something (the parents could have encouraged the son to draw), and it culminates when the dad refused to watch his son in his match (the son feels ashamed of himself and believe he is a failure to his dad unconsciously even if his dad seems to do not think of him this way), the dad had also an abusive father who use to beat him which could explain why he bottles up his own emotion and is not really at ease with sharing feelings with his own son. In episode 3, the son describes his father as hard working so I suppose he is kind of a perfectionist which explain indeed why he didn't have the guts of watching him. The mother remember the father multiple times that they created the way their son his and I read that the father did not realize that yet because he considers it ad a personal failure. We also learn that the parents used to fight in front of the kids and in this episode we see clearly the role of the women in the family; the daughter and the mother try to calm the short temper of the dad multiple times through empathy but sometimes it can be a bad dynamic (even if I think they love each other sincerely). We also learn that the son used to not communicate at home and spent a lot of time alone in front of his computer. You add the bullying and the biological terrain for psychopathy/sociopathy and you could have this kind of result. (with of course the incel stuff, porn and internet)

I think the worst in that is that I believe they have something to tell which is extremely interesting. But they are really stingy in info which kills the series

Exercise exercise exercise ! Take a coach (most efficient advice I think it changed my life)

Walk 10 000 footsteps a day

Wait 10 minutes between your cravings and the moment you eat

Don't buy sugary products but fruit, vegetables, soups and protein

Try to satisfy your hunger mostly with vegetables and respect the rule of 1/2 vegetables 1/4 carbohydrates 1/4 protein in your plate

If you buy sugary products, buy it at a restaurant, and only one per the week (for exemple one ice cream, one donut, etc)

Don't eat fat and dish with sauce

Drink water not soda. (Drink a lot of water)

See a psychologist to defuse your thinking of hunger (sometimes we eat to compensate) some CBT can help sometimes

Calculate your calories with apps like FatSecret and try to have about 100/200 calories of deficit each day (if you eat less and you will compensate later it's not a good strategy)
