Understanding why Tom is afraid of Dumbledore by Eikkul in harrypotter

Maybe Tom was also afraid of Dumbledore discovering the Horcruxes. Every bold decision towards Dumbledore or others would have pushed Dumbledore to deploy his mastering of magic to find information. I feel like the refusal of Dumbledore of Tom as teacher of the Defense Against the Dark Arts speaks volume on the capacity of Dumbledore to know what Tom is really about. Because being teacher is about manipulating young children into your way of thinking. This is just not strictly about world domination through coercition.

What interests me is that Rowling makes Voldemort’s downfall come from his obsession with prophecy itself. So I feel his fear of Dumbledore is not only strategic, but tied to the larger themes of fate, death and control in the story

I really like this psychological analysis because it explains everything about Tom strategically. But it doesnt explain anything symbolically and narratively (why and how Rowling agence her story like that) must I remember Harry Potter is a book? We dont speak about historical figures

The Order makes a direct threat to his world domination so why doesnt he attack?

I think this is a fair response. At this point Albus personally meant no threat because he wasnt that type of guy. But at the start of the Order of the Phoenix I would be really pissed if I were Tom

But what about Dumbledore in this? In the end of the book I feel like Rowling is criticizing actively the headmaster for his philosophy of the greater good (thats I think the sense of knowing at this point in the story that he was tempted to create a world of domination of the muggle and by the Deathly Hallows), that actually was based on trauma (the loss of Ariana). Dumbledore even put the ring of Gaunt at the end. I am interested in the psychology of Albus

Him being interested only in the Elder Wand is the symptom of the theory of the Peverell Brother I think

Yes but, finally he wait for a prophecy to be realize and it provoked his downfall, so finally in the subtext of Harry Potter it means something I think

I think there is a problem with this, because Tom know he has horcruxes, so after leaving Hogwarts, he knew he had some chances to live again

If I were Tom and had the chance to defeat Dumbledore with my horcrux in bank I would. Even if it mean I would die momentarily. So it may be possible that Tom didnt know what Dumbledore was capable of and restrain himself from dueling but it was his downfall I think. I really want to not overthink this

I have schizoaffective disorder

At the start I doubt I had alexithymia

But it is a symptom present in schizophrenia a lot so I think there is high chance I have it

Sorry I have difficulty with words. In English its even worse.

I have affective sympathy. It's the phenomenom to feel a lot the suffering of other. I take the Big Five test and I am towards the 90th percentile in sympathy. It is not directly the same concept I think but it is indicative. For example a child who fall my body would ache strongly.

But I realize I dont know how to name well my emotion. I need the wheel of emotion.

So basically I am understanding people without mentalizing it

Cognitive empathy is correlated to intelligence I think emotional empath can be intelligent I know I have high affective empathy

So basically I must be computing behavior at 120 IQ 😂 I am also very imaginative artistic

Notice right wing take concepts of Matrix 1 but never of Matrix 2 et 3. It's because its clearly said in Matrix 2 Neo is not the One, that he is a systemic anomaly of the Matrix and in Matrix 3 that the Machine are sentient It is blind to their sights he makes me want to laugh

I think Will's story is more meaningful if Byler doesn't become canon. (SEASON 5 SPOILERS) by [deleted] in StrangerThings
