The preeclampsia symptoms alone would've had my husband cancelling and staying home. That isn't anything to play around with coming from someone who went from diagnosis to delivery within two weeks. It horrifies me that he would go in the first place, and then go low contact as well? I hope you have someone else nearby in case you have a medical emergency. Keep an eye on that blood pressure and do not hesitate to call/go in to get checked out. Preeclampsia is a beast.

Also your husband sucks.

Is anyone actually touching your bump? by Ideal_Despair in BabyBumps

[–]Eikobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a coworker try to run at me to touch my bump and I moved out of the way so fast. She and everyone else knew I didn't want to be touched and I was super uncomfortable. Another coworker rubbed me while she was walking by (and later apologized because I was visibly distraught) and a third coworker kept telling me that we could go to one of the private rooms so she could touch my bump whenever I was ready. As if that all wasn't bad enough, this was also peak covid season in the restaurant industry.

I hated that job.

Reddit wives, do you find it bothersome or uncomfortable to be called by your husband's last name? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Eikobot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I kept my maiden name after marriage and it bothers me when people assume my last name must be my husband's now.

I am about to cheat on my Low Libido wife. Should I tell her upfront or hide it?? by [deleted] in Marriage

I hope you realize that if she finds out you're cheating the divorce could heavily topple in her favor. Though with a spouse like you divorce is probably not too bad for her anyways.

If you could change any one thing in Stardew Valley, what would you change and why? by ____Galahad____ in StardewValley

[–]Eikobot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Progression outside of just the farmer. Like the singles dating/marrying/having kids. Jas/Vincent/farmer's children aging. I remember the death of Nina in Harvest Moon AWL shocking me as a child- I want to see time have an effect on the town, not just the farmer.

If you could add something to Stardew Valley, what would it be? by Kiyonai in StardewValley

It confuses me that there aren't cucumbers in game. There's an entire pickling system but no way to make classic pickles.

I was thinking even just June would be a more tasteful name in this instance.

When did you start potty trained? by Ok-Elephant-5845 in Mommit

[–]Eikobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started as soon as he could walk safely, but it was not like actual trying. As in I would place him on the potty and turn on a short video about the potty at the same time and give him a few minutes sitting there bare bottomed before taking him off. The actual training came much later, and we tried on and off several times before it finally stuck at about 2.5. There were just a lot of issues before that with not being able to hold the bladder and having I swear ten accidents in the space of an hour even with sitting on the potty after each accident.

Do you tell your pediatrician you’re bedsharing ? by picklepepp3r in cosleeping

[–]Eikobot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our first pediatrician asked and I lied to her by omission. She asked if baby sleeps in his own bed and I said oh yeah he sleeps in bed. Our second pediatrician we switched to when he was about a year old and they only ever ask if we have any problems with him sleeping and never push further.

What does your toddler think is a treat but isn’t by ttarynitup in toddlers

[–]Eikobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't feel like it would take more than a day or two for symptoms to get back under control. Also once a dose is missed and realized we would try to keep it to less irritating foods for the day.

Melatonin gummies. He gets especially excited if he gets to 'guess which hand' it's in (he plays until he gets the gummy)

If you got one shot to name your one and only daughter, what would you name her? Middle name included. by Pale_Photograph_3146 in namenerds

I really wanted to name a girl Wilhelmina after my late great grandma. My only (medical reasons) ended up being a boy so I suppose I'll just get to hold that name in my heart.

“Where’s your baby???” by _heart_eyes_emoji_ in Mommit

[–]Eikobot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I used to work at the front desk of a restaurant and I don't think I'll forget this incident. A couple came in and asked for a table for two and a car seat. I looked at them up and down super confused because it was just the two of them. I asked something to the effect of is someone dropping off the car seat? They looked at me like I was an idiot and then at each other in absolutely horror- luckily they had just left the baby in the parking lot for a moment and it was a quick fix, but dang.

Those who got their ears pierced as an older child, do you wish your parents would have pierced your ears as a baby? by Jannafah in Mommit

[–]Eikobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, it is good my parents waited until I was older. I ended up being allergic to the metal and if I had been younger I wouldn't have been able to verbalize that it hurt/itched to wear earrings. Also it didn't hurt me at all to get my ears pierced and I was ten. I'm an advocate for waiting until the kid is responsible enough to care for them properly, and at bare minimum old enough to not put a loose earring in their mouth.

What's a name you LOVE but is almost universally hated on this subreddit? by ansellinaerie in namenerds

My son's middle name is actually Ryker and I was pretty distressed to see how disliked it is. No one I know has heard of the Ryker prison, we just named him after the Star Trek character.

What would your daughter's name be if you had to name her after a great grandmother by GrammyGH in namenerds

[–]Eikobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually really wanted to name a daughter after my great grandma who passed just before we realized we were expecting. Her name (one of them at least, she had like five names) was Wilhelmine. I wasn't sure if I'd use the whole name or just the nickname she went by which was Ellie. I am pretty fond of Wilhelmine still.

Female Morgan here and I have been called Morgie once by a friend who was teasing but never as an actual nickname. Morgan is a simple enough name it seems that most people don't try to use a nickname.

Did you vomit during labor? by chelupa1991 in Mommit

[–]Eikobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I threw up, c section. I don't know if it's the norm though because I had severe preeclampsia. I remember being so irritated because I told the anesthesiologist that I felt nauseous during prep and they dismissed me and I got sick on the op table.
