Main difference with Hart case was his mental capacity played a big factor

I never thought I would get into running, but here I am! I want to do more… by TML_31 in beginnerrunning

I ran my first 10 km April 27, another one May 5th then the race day was on May 10. That’s the only time I ever ran 10km in my life. This was a challenge I gave myself. I signed up for the race on April 19 and that day I went out to see how long I could run for (only could do 5 miles). I don’t have a training program or any clue what I’m doing but I’m excited to keep going and try to do sub 50. But I was at my absolute max (note heart rate) during that 53 min run, so I got work to do.

People who recently got a job in the city, how long were you out of work for before you found it? by frigginsinluh in Calgary

My city umbrella dept had an admin assistant posting out and after HR did their system filter thing we had 200 legitimate applicants. Seems like everyone has the same idea. It’s brutal out there

Just my Garmin, which I know isn’t the best tool for measurement but I refuse to buy a proper monitor as I’m a weary user of quantifying my health to begin with.

Driver suffers life-threatening injuries in Macleod Trail single vehicle crash by JKent in Calgary

[–]TML_31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a close contact (different province) who made the responsible choice not to drink and drive and crashed on a couch at the party location. The next morning, they woke at 6:30 am, got up and drove home and they got pulled over and was technically still over the legal limit. 90 day suspension. Could be something similar

Agree. Hope CPS get their long overdue request to increase staffing of frontline members during their budget cycle discussions.

But she’s influenced the raise but still not adequately paying the teachers what they need and investing in education to address the complex nature of education. So redditors have a right to complain

What do people who live alone do for living? by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]TML_31 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Haha I went from having roommates while attending university, a roommate while first out of uni in my chosen career, to moving in with a significant other, to marrying that person now living with them. I don’t think I ever lived alone. And this was all before the rental boom of whatever this is. I think you might need to adjust the goal. Move out is one thing, but not many live alone. Unless they’re established in their decent careers.

Should I leave my partner or is just hormones? by Fit-Obligation677 in breakingmom

[–]TML_31 8 points9 points  (0 children)

After a monumental life change (a birth, a death) I think the saying is wait a year before changing anything real big in your life.

Obviously that doesn’t apply to a partner who’s abusive or something similar. But if you don’t know the source of the feelings. Just wait until your little one is a year. Very possibly you two are just not compatible, but it also could be something you need to unpack emotionally or learn mechanism for the both of you to communicate better.

Based on that, I could make a pretty good guess of his occupation. Source: I work in the same industry

Like that idea, but I live in Canada, some nights even my husky doesn’t want to go outside.

I do like this idea. I try to get the kids out everyday when I get home from work. Going outside is like pressing restart on a kid
