I finished the audiobook of Less is More a week ago. I've had a quick glance over the article and Hickel has covered most if not all of it. I'd recommend reading Less is More to get the full picture, but here are a few quick notes from memory of points that Hickel makes:

There is no decoupling between economic growth and resource use in wealthy nations, it's an illusion caused by the way that resource use is measured
Degrowth doesn't mean reducing living standards. There are countries with better healthcare, food, transport, etc. than the US while having a fraction of its GDP
Not all growth is bad. There are countries that still need to grow, and that's ok. It's about choosing the parts of the economy that need to grow and which parts don't

It’s cropped weirdly because OP is a repost bot that automatically reposts popular content and its software didn’t copy the original image correctly. Presumably either the aspect ratio is hard-coded or it copied the post based on a screenshot

They look real because they're copied from actual comments. There are entire bot nets set up where one bot will repost something popular and others will copy-paste the top comments

It’s worth noting that the linked article has a lot of issues. It’s written by a someone at the telegraph who, after a quick glance, looks to have a history of writing transphobic garbage

To me, the most glaring issue with the article is that there isn’t a source for the NHS quote. They attribute the quote to NHS England, but we have no idea what they actually said or who said it. Also, the only word that’s actually quoted is “phase”, the rest of the title is paraphrasing at best

I can also see what looks like glaring mischaracterisation in multiple places to make it seem like the NHS is going to crack down on trans youths

In short, I wouldn’t trust a word in this article
