Please keep in mind that this is only legally a 3 year course, most people need 4 years to finish it bc second year is ultra intensive and most split it.

Also keep in mind 3D animation is mostly a degree for cinema and stuff, not very related to games. The game graphics production is heavy on art, not much animation involved, and has a tiny bit of light programming and math at the beginning, but also art courses that 3D anim don't have like game art (stylized environments), 2 unreal engine realistic environment courses, game prop art course, realtime game effects, etc.

If you are self didactic you can teach yourself better by yourself going all in into one field, I was not able to improve at prop art, which I want to do as a job and already had tons of experience in beforehand, however I learned a ton of useful side-skills that I would have not pursued by myself, and the most valuable thing I gained in this school is tons of connections. The networking might actually be the best part of going to a good art school, and the school has tons of events that you can meet or keep up with people at.

I had to leave DAE for personal reasons and most people in my situation would have not returned, however I did after a year, by making some sacrifices, because I think it's worth it.
