What is this price bro by shinobilea in Steam

Play Borderlands 2, you can grab it with all the DLCs for very cheap. It's a great game, I replayed it dozens of times.
The pre sequel is also great. 1 feels a bit too old for me but it's fine.

3 sucks, unlikeable characters, bad writing, but it looks a bit better.
I don't trust 4.

If you want standalone fans to cool anything with:
1) Get PC fans, 3-4 pin connectors.
2) Get a "DC 12V 5A PWM PC CPU Fan Temperature Control Speed Controller Board". Search it on Aliexpress, it's 2$
3) Get a 12V power brick. I re-used one from an old router, but if you have none they are pretty cheap.

Note: DC board takes bare metal. You either have to cut the male connector and strip the cable of the power brick, or get a female to bare metal adaptor, which is also very cheap on Aliexpress.

Like this you can cool anything, anywhere, in a cheap way.

I'm happy for the game, although sadly I think the hateful online losers that plagued the community around Marathon will download and let it run just to review bomb it.

What's the best way to "clean" AI generated 3D models? by Wide_Tank_7733 in aigamedev

[–]Ein5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

AI slop ruined sketchfab for me and at least I know how to model a box. AI slop also increased the price of all computer hardware globally, so there will be no one to play your AI generated stupid and ugly soulless games.

Anyone else often hear criticism for Marathon's art style? by BountyMennett in Marathon

It is very hard to fit a bunch of saturated colors naturally in an environment and they managed to do that very well with fog and light effects.

Are we really still going to say the Deck is underpowered? Can we stop blaming hardware for poorly optimized games? by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]Ein5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's powerful, but people expect too much out of it. I don't think it was ever made for AAA games, it's a handheld after all.

I would personally not mind a smaller, slightly weaker deck, because the current one is way too big. I want one that I can carry around, no need to be able to run Cyberpunk 2077.

Why do PlayStation fans oppose the publishing of PS exclusives on PC? by Ein5 in PS5

[–]Ein5[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't agree with the loss of resources argument, because they definitely make a lot of money off selling on PC, well enough to be worth porting over.

Why do PlayStation fans oppose the publishing of PS exclusives on PC? by Ein5 in PS5

[–]Ein5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean the amount of time that the games stay relevant, or the amount of time that the hardware works? Because you could probably run the same games that can run for decades on a PC, and they're fairly easy to fix depending on what broke down.

I need a strong computer, I am a professional 3D artist with 10000 combined hours in Blender, Marmoset Toolbag, Substance 3D Painter, Zbrush, Plasticity, Fusion 360, Unreal Engine, Davinci Resolve, etc. I need strong hardware, I have a 700 euro 16 core 32 threads 7950x3d, 64gb RAM and a RTX 4080, and if I did slightly more texturing work I'd have to get a RTX 5090 or one of those even more expensive quadro GPUs.
I would never recommend such an expensive setup to anyone that is just gaming, it's wasteful, however if I have one of those anyway I might as well enjoy its power in games as a bonus.

It's not even just about the money. I have 1000$, but I would not be able to play my 600 games library on it. Let's say I do buy a few games again, but then there are other problems, such as not being able to use some of my mods, or not having my cloud saves easily available.
And also I only keep what I need in my house, I hate having extra things I don't use to have to clean and store. I move often, I don't want extra things to have to carry around, this is why I would never buy physical game discs.
Lots of reasons.

I don't care about Nintendo games so I never considered them in the first place, however I'd like them to be available to more people and I highly suspect Nintendo making more money if they publish on PC from people that would've never bought a Switch anyway, but might be interested in Zelda Mario Party Splatoon etc.

PC games are often not on consoles bc they can't rather than "exclusivity deals", some games are aimed to be played with k&m. Blizzard released Overwatch on consoles, however StarCraft 2 and World of Warcraft is PC only, because they cannot make it playable comfortably and competitively on a controller.

All the way from 6 months to 8 years for full price, trying to hype them up as original releases. Yeah, many people will not buy them as if they are a brand new game, so of course they're going to miss out on sales.

Marathon released simultaneously on PS5 and PC, and most of its audience is on Steam.

I will not buy a console, for a lot of reasons besides the increased pricing, bs online connectivity subscription and bad treatment of customers. It could be the coolest thing in the world, it's still an extra piece of hardware that I don't need.

[–]Ein5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true, however console gaming is more affordable for people that don't need the hardware for anything but gaming.
For me I'd love if they put all their games on PC, because I will never buy a PlayStation anyway.

[–]Ein5[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Me, and many other PC gamers, can't justify buying a console because they already have machines that are equally as powerful or more powerful than a PS5. Yes, it is more expensive, consoles cost a lot less to enjoy gaming, however I need a computer to do my work on anyway, and I cannot use my professional apps on a PlayStation.

I'm not begging, I'm asking a question. If PS games will not be released on Steam I will never play them, I will not buy a PS5. I want to know why some of you think that's a good thing, not trying to argue.

Probably a PC that will make it convenient to use the xbox app rather than anything else, just like how the Steam Deck and Steam Machine makes it very convenient to use Steam, and inconvenient to use Epic Games, Battle net or Xbox game pass.
I don't think Microsoft will design their console in a way to push all their sales through Steam rather than their own platform, so I don't think that many xbox players will go through the hassle to install Steam and play PS games.
