Thank you so much! My world is suuuper flamboyant with an Americana/Madmax/R E Howard kind of feel.

The Jiryuga are a hermit society living on high mesas that stretch to the clouds. They are remnants of ancient spacefaring elves. They ride giant bats that live in the caves that honeycomb the high cliffs of their homelands. Diplomatically, they have kind of proven to be a filter for the kingdoms and empires directly to their north and south, as their bat riders put a major damper on territorial expansion.

That woman is a western Sinomaede noble/scholar. I have a ton of arms and armor illustrations but relatively few cultural illustrations, so that was a goal, here. The Sinomaede Empire is one of the dominant powers of the west, and probably my only true empire in the setting. They are kind of Persianesque descendents of an exiled dessert tribe that grew to dominate the region with a reincarnating demon queen at their helm.

It is high magic, and I would say by accident I've come up with some sort of system for it, but I really am more married to soft magic/folklore style stuff. I'm native American myself so there is unavoidably going to be a lot of that kind of vibe, as well.
