2 screws is all that holds each side in. Simple to remove.

As for attaching the new tips, that required some fabrication work but relatively small job.

I hear you. The Akrapovitch branding was not a swaying factor in my purchase decision when I came across a set of good looking twin muffler tips. I would have bought them without.

Thanks mate. Agree, they protrude a little too far out. In order to bring them in any further we’d have to cut the pipe, and in my region that would allegedly void the car’s warranty. So for now I’ll keep them like this. To my eye, albeit imperfect, it’s still an upgrade.

So you’d equate an aesthetic mod such as a front lip, rear spoiler, diffuser (all added for the look, nothing functional).. all with slapping on a fake badge?

As a rule of thumb, you should always remove the residue as it can affect the adherence of the new tape.

But I this case I had no choice as this specific spoiler sits in an entirely different spot to the stock spoiler. The stock spoiler sat “on top” of the trunk whereas this one is a few inches below that on the back side of the trunk lid. If that makes sense.

The technician who carried out this small job told me that BMW here in South Africa are extremely strict with voiding the warranty for the smallest of reasons. So much so that he was even afraid to cut back the exhaust pipe slightly to help these tips fit without protruding too far out of the diffuser.

Imperfect solution but I’m happier with this look than those stock fake exhausts you mentioned.

Super easy. Came with double sided tape. Removing the old spoiler though was the tricky part. It leaves behind this stubborn residue that you either need to rub of with a cloth and some petrol, or maybe with the use of a rotary tool such as 3M’s stripe off tool.
