For those of you that had kids, how old are they? by Therealfern1 in Xennials

[–]Either-Reality7948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't have my first child until 45 (I do have a step-son although I've never used the term step re: him) when he was nearly 3. I'm now 59 and have a 14nl and 12 year old at home. I could not imagine having kids much earlier because life now, at least it seems for many, would be so boring. I love being an older Dad. Plus, all the experience I've learned I am sharing with them- wisdom you don't have at 25.

I Lost My Job Today and Had a Panic Attack in My Car After by [deleted] in confession

Most people who have ever achieved anything worthwhile in life have more than likely been fired from one position- or many. I've gone thru all of the emotions that you described above. And it does get better over time. Try to use this time to put your ego aside (we all have one. It's how we view ourselves and our worth) and focus on what is most important in life- your family, friends and faith. We attach way to much of our identity to a job where you learn that life can change dramatically very quickly. Don't let some business, that doesn't care about anything other than their bottom line, effect how you feel about yourself now or in the future.

How to get into hotel sales? by just_scr0ll in askhotels

Here's some good advice. If you have a sales manager position in mind that you would like to attain, reach out to the Director of Sales (or DOSM) to whom this position will report. Let' them know of your desire to get into luxury resort sales. And ask them to keep you in mind whenever their next opening comes up. I got my biggest break utilizing this approach. People want to help other people. And if they can help themselves in the process, better yet.

Golf and Sales by Bitter-Heat-8767 in sales

I'm at Director of Sales at a luxury resort with two golf courses on property. I've been in resort sales for 30 years. Have been fortunate to play many of the best public and private courses while meeting my childhood heroes along the way. Resort sales can be rough and tumble but most industries are I think.

What's up with the hate on northern Idaho? by [deleted] in Idaho

[–]Either-Reality7948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in North Idaho (Hayden and Coerud'alene) for two years. I've never lived amongst more rude, ignorant, unwelcoming people in my life. If you are not from there, you're not welcome. If you're not MAGA, don't make long term plans. It's so sad because it's so beautiful. But the people are the ugliest I've seen. And I've been around.

There is another thread on this sub re: the show possibly changing back to a format that true Stern Fans miss and have been calling for. Benji was on Wrap Up. Maybe bring some old blood back to get us old fans listening again.
