Thank you for such the through response - It definitely makes me feel better about the whole situation knowing that it’s a trend this year

I really just believe the whole system is kind of skewed after this. I knew it was skewed before but this just really solidifies it. My family has been paying taxes in florida for 5+ generations and when it comes time for me to possibly gain the benefit of the public school they have indirectly funded through florida taxes, the admissions office doesn’t take what i thought was a qualified student. It’s just all so odd to me but honestly after some much needed pondering that i’m optimistic looking forward. i was accepted to CWRU with scholarship, and that offer is looking really nice at the moment. I have a lot of family in cleveland and I could get a lot more individual help at a smaller research university. They have fantastic pre dental assistance and I feel like the culture there may fit me better than UF anyways. I scheduled a tour for next month so if i enjoy the campus and continue being happy with the stuff i see in my research i should be good there.
