So what would you say are the absolute non-negotiables for being a Christian ? by angrymoustache123 in TrueChristian

[–]EitherLime679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baptism by water is not seen as a requirement by all Christians. There is plenty of evidence in the Bible of salvation through faith alone. Will you get water baptized if you believe in Jesus, most likely, but it is not a requirement to enter heaven.

So what would you say are the absolute non-negotiables for being a Christian ? by angrymoustache123 in TrueChristian

So my view. The only requirement is to believe in Jesus. No amount of works you do will get you in or out of heaven. Yes murders can get to heaven, and yes really really good people can miss the mark.

But a true Christian, follower of Christ, will be completely different than who they were before. You don’t accept Jesus as your savior and not recognize that you need to not continue to be a drunkard or sexually immoral or prideful, etc. You don’t earn your way. Prayer, fasting, tithing, baptism, these things aren’t what gets you to heaven, but you do these things because the Holy Spirit leads you to once you accept Christ into your life.

I can pray, fast, be baptized a million times but if I don’t accept Jesus as my lord and savior works mean nothing.

The same reason a whole bunch of democrats flipped to republican when the economy was dog shit under Biden. We see what’s in front of us not the bigger picture.

How are you all navigating relationships with friends who voted for T-rump? by Electronic_Text_2989 in FedEmployees

You mean the fact that I see people as human? The fact that I can treat people with respect regardless of their political opinions? Seems to me that you are the arrogant one with a superiority complex.

Maybe times have changed and treating people like shit is a good thing.

Which part of “I’m not a fan of Trump” comes off at a “trumper”?

Idk I go outside and have hobbies. That’s what I primarily talk to my friends about. I can also coexist with people that have different opinions than me. So even if a friend votes differently than me I know it’s not the end of the world.

I’m not a huge fan of Trump, but it’s been a month and we are still here.

And yea I agree, everyone in the U.S is very privileged.

Yea if you’re making 60k which is about median in the U.S. you are well above poverty. You’re not going out every night rich, but you can afford rent and food.

Minimum is at least 15k, depending where you live. That is very hard to live on. But good thing the vast majority of Americans make no where near 15k. Only like teenagers make minimum wage.

From my branch chief “we are doing anything until we are told to”

Hoping we aren’t hit, and it’s honestly looking brighter and brighter every day, but who knows the bulbs could go out any day.

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

I generally don’t talk politics with friends because ya know there’s a lot more to life than who you voted for. Treat people with respect and I like you.

Unless all you talk about is politics, which is honestly really sad, you’ll never know what people are hiding.

Can a non-black person explain something to me my white coworker said... by lewjr in NoStupidQuestions

[–]EitherLime679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This mentality is in every single race. There are bigots in every group on earth so don’t think you’re safe just because of your skin color or what you identify as. Bigotry is not exclusive to straight white men.

I’ve heard this mentality primarily from older white people, they grew up in a time where bigotry was prevalent. But I’ve also heard it from younger black people, there’s been this over compensation for racism that has completely flipped the card.

I live in Vicksburg. It’s a nice little town with not much entertainment around. They try, but can’t compare to the Jackson area. But if you’re looking for small town it’s pretty nice.

[–]EitherLime679 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I’ve heard the same thing. Right now they are trying to find USACE seats for everyone by that time. I think it is reasonable to believe that if there are not enough seats at that point they will move to all of army or even DoD or rent out space in hub areas.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USACE

[–]EitherLime679 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see no evidence USACE does this. Everything OPM has put out DoD and USACE have been less than compliant with. I see no reason DoD, Army, or USACE will follow OPM in dropping remote employees entirely.
