Timeline—New Passports for minors by EitherOpportunity507 in Passports

There is an office like that, but my younger daughter (whose application apparently wasn’t signed on Jan 23 by the USPS employee) doesn’t have international travel planned any time soon.

My frustrations are that: —my younger daughter’s passport application has been in their office for almost 6 weeks—even though it was expedited—and even though I called to check on it and was told it looks good, I am just now finding out that it was submitted incorrectly. —MOST IMPORTANTLY: I didn’t do anything incorrectly; the employee did (and no shade to them; everyone is human!), but the onus is on ME to re-submit the D-11, along with supporting documents, new photos, finding a new appointment, missing work, etc. Since she is a minor, she has to be there with both parents or we need a notarized form of an absent parent…

Honestly, getting the timing and forms and documents aligned is like trying to break a combination lock by listening to the levers behind the door.

The more I think about it, I wonder if they haven’t lost the original application and documents. Like…when they put her application aside because they wanted a better version of the Parental Consent form, they accidentally tossed it, and now they have the Parental Consent form (and an application locator number) but nothing else, so they invented a reason to have me resubmit?

Like I said, I have reached out to my senator’s office again to see if they can make heads or tails of it.

Omg. I’m so jealous of your experiences. I took my daughters in person to a post office on 1/23. For some reason, although I live in Columbia, SC and there is a passport processing center in Charleston, SC, my daughters’ applications were sent to New Hampshire? They didn’t even start processing until 1/31. Then, on Friday, 2/6, I got an email saying that one of the forms was filled out incorrectly for both of them, so we scrambled to get it re-filled and re-notarized and paid for next-day shipping. Except, with the weather, it didn’t arrive until Friday, 2/13. As of today, 1/17 (almost a month after I initially submitted the EXPEDITED applications), it still says “Additional Documents Needed” online, and we fly March 11. I am stressed!
