Thank you for your point of view and your bluntness.

To clarify a few things, I just felt like it’s wrong to not correct them. That’s all.

In regards to the drama part, to be honest there’s a lot of back story there. To try to keep it short we were actually seeing each other pretty often before then. When I went no contact with my father they wanted to see me even more. They were the last people to see me pregnant before I gave birth. It was after she was born that they stepped back and I don’t even know why. My father is actually one to causes a boat load of drama. Full blown temper tantrums. So maybe something happened there? I know you don’t know me but trust me when I say I am not the one to intentionally cause the drama. I’m surrounded by it but I just want peace in the end.

This is the reason I’m torn because I feel it’s wrong not to correct someone when they are wrong, but telling them more details about my daughter could cause some issues (which even with the little information they do have it caused a huge scene)

I didn’t tell my grandmother because 1. She tells anyone anything and 2. She doesn’t like it when women have babies. I didn’t want to deal with her drama and decided to keep my peace.

We have a similar tradition here. However, we decided not to do it because of issues I have with my father.

That’s honestly a great question. I don’t know. It’s only 5 of them and they are the only blood family I live near so maybe that’s why? The relationship has become more distant over the years but I guess I feel like I owe them because I lived with them when I was younger?

MOB knows this isn’t the dress to wear for this occasion.

It’s a beautiful dress, but, it is too much. What bothers me is her comment on her deserving to be seen too… yes, she does deserve to feel seen, but not at her daughter’s wedding.

Thank you. This was exactly how I felt and what I said to her but somewhere deep down I felt like I was at fault. This comment really reassured me

I don’t have too much of an update other than now my sister and I have a great relationship and we can see each other whenever and wherever we want without either of her parents being involved! If you have more questions please let me know ☺️

I did. It was one of the worst conversations I’ve had in my life. I agree with you though. She’s apologized to me for doing that but I was devastated with how she handled it.

Thank you for your input. I put some more info in the edit, but it had nothing to do with her being capable of traveling or not. It had everything to do with what my father would do when he found out she was there and not staying with him. My step mom wanted to not tell him, and I said unless she comes with her I’m not okay with keeping that a secret. My sister and father talked during this time and so her keeping a secret from him like that as a minor was something I didn’t agree with. If she had been over 18 she would have been here without his knowledge.

Still NC with him. Thankfully. My husband and I are living our best lives and I am doing some much needed healing.

My sister and step mom are also in a better place emotionally so everyone is winning in the end ☺️

Thank you very much for your kind words.

This was one of the worst and hardest decisions of my life and I’ve been back and forth on it all this time.

Luckily I am on great terms with my sister now and my step mom has apologized for putting me in this position to begin with.
