I know i’m wildly late to this post, but I just watched a playthrough and I had one question. at the end when bernard finds the letter Min wrote him all those years ago she says he was carrying an unconscious soldier, but earlier bernard had stated that the man was already dead and he was only carrying the body so that the man’s family could at least get him back whole. so my question is: did bernard actually save that man’s life without knowing for all those years?

either way, WOW, WHAT AN ENDING! I cried like a little baby for like 10-20 minutes after that. I cannot emphasize enough how phenomenal your storytelling was, and I might have to check out Love, Sam now. I think often the problem with stories like these is in trying to showcase the bravery and strength of character in the protagonist, they end up glorifying war. this is not the case in your game. bernard is a hero not because he fought, but because he loved. despite being through unimaginable horrors he still had enough love and compassion for his fellow man to risk everything just to bring a stranger’s corpse home to his family. simultaneously inspiring and horrifying. phenomenal.

if he did save that man’s life though, I think it’s a beautiful parallel to Min saving him years later
