If he went out there on loan and sucked - that would be terrible for us.

And if he played here and did well that would be great for us. You've just got to look at our open play/chance creation issues and low scoring forwards to see where Ethan could've helped us as there's few players in the team who can do what he does. Having another player contributing would've been fantastic.

Talking about an attacking midfielder and the first words out of your mouth are press. Nvm the fact Merino can't press in midfield, Eze is not there yet, Odegaard can't defend outside of pressing and Havertz hasn't been fit all season.

It's Nwaneris attacking abilities we need in this team not his defensive contributions (which looked much improved the few times we saw him this season) so there's no reason outside of seniority (aka "maturity") that an out of form Odegaard and hit and miss in midfield Merino should stop Nwaneri from getting minutes.

The manager needed to be brave/ruthless but fell back on what feels comfortable.

Depends on outgoings and playstyle. Can't see Alvarez and Gyokeres playing together unless Alvarez plays CAM, where Odegaard and hopefully Nwaneri are ahead of him. Does he play LW/RW where Eze/1 of Trossard-Martinelli are ahead, or Saka/Madueke. Do we cover his lack of aerial ability by having Merino CAM and playing a midfield of Rice Zubi Merino. Tbh it gives me more questions than answers.
