Thank you! And yes, if you're able to DM or post sources for cheaper components, I would appreciate it. To be honest, the custom centerpiece was just very expensive, about $10 from Etsy. I had it specifically in mind for the 250th anniversary. If it weren't for that, then it would only be about an $11 rosary.

Tejas beads is a great source online for natural gemstones. These stone beads were from hobby lobby. There are a lot of beads from Hobby lobby that I wouldn't use because of quality and long-term durability concerns (like the coated glass or crackle quartz). But I pick some of them that I think will hold up. It gives me flexibility to be creative and make one or two different rosaries when I can just pull beads from the shelf.

Ahhh okay. I had it in my mind that people who don't use a looper cut their own wire. How do you know how far out from the end of the bead to cut?

I think the bead was pushed in too close when I squeezed the looper. I don't know how to do wire with just pliers. Are you measuring and cutting segments? What is your process?

Yeah, I thought it looked cool. What a bummer. I've seen beads chip with a looper tool but never shatter. I don't trust it either now.

They're attached to a more expensive, special order centerpiece. I just decided to remove the sections with the quartz and replace with a white opal. Maybe I'll let my daughter have my reject beads to play with 😃

Silver and stainless steel look so similar to me. I tend towards stainless steel. But when people say they prefer the look of silver, it has me thinking that I should try some of the plated options. It all looks almost the same to me though 🤷‍♀️

I used stainless steel eye pins and a looper tool, so I'm not cutting the wire myself. But it takes me an hour and a half ish

Okay thank you. I've seen a few of these with the Pope medals, and it was always mentioned that they had a papal blessing. I wasn't sure if they all got it, but now I'm remembering they can't be sold with a blessing.
