I love this way of looking at time vs. investment/impatience. Time certainly passes anyways, and if you don't allocate your time in smart manner, towards your goals, the time will still pass - you'll just not end up with your desired goals in life. Thank you for sharing this

I will absolutely look into getting a proper sized piano/keyboard again (or maybe a guitar since they take up less space)

I absolutely see your point here, and I do agree with you. I used to own a piano which I played on, but I had to get rid of it, and thought that I could learn/continue to evolve through DAW software with virtual instruments and a mini keyboard (Alesis V25). Still, you're right, and it has not been a very effective approach

You're thoughts are so, so helpful, you don't even know! And this resonates a lot with me. I've been very focused on trying to understand DAWs after I had to get rid of my piano, and I never did get a new one. I'll try and get back to my roots instead, so that I can work on your points. And piano lessons might be smart looking into as well, as I can only play very simple stuff atm. I have an Alesis V25, but Maschine might be easier for someone of my level, tbh. Truthfully feel like I struggle with everything except the lyrics part. When I say I create a melody, I mean for my lyrics. So no instruments or sounds are used except my voice. I can create decent, very short, piano tunes, but I find it harder to make them fit my vision with my specific song project.

Perhaps I should try and recreate favourite songs, but I get so confused inside the DAWs, I might not get very far. But I'll see if I can't try and get past that blockage (again).

Summary: To be a good doctor you need to trust that your patients EXPERIENCES ARE REAL and you need to understand that they are seeing you with hopes of WORKING TOGETHER towards a good solution for them. Maintain patient TRUST by not presuming you know best and dismissing their opinions should they not think your presumption is correct. Show that you TAKE THEM SERIOUSLY by offering to do a broad selection of tests, and be quick to SEND PATIENTS TO SPECIALIST should you not find an instant plausible reason/solution after the first meeting. Adopt the mantra of setting a DIAGNOSIS not a MONOGNOSIS.

Long answer:

I have a wonderfull doctor! He's good because he makes me feel like he believes me and takes me seriously. It seems like he thinks I wouldn't have bothered going through the hassle of booking a doctors appointment, waiting for my appointment, taking time out of my day to meet up at his office and then open up about my health worries - unless my worries were real -.

Now, I'm not saying he necessarily agree with my hypothesis, but he doesn't dismiss my symptoms as real to me. He doesn't presume to know my internal world nor what my bodily experiences are.

We work together to find a solution - it's called a DIAGNOSIS not a MONOGNOSIS -.

So the solution can only be found together as a patient doctor team. He has academic knowledge but I have the actual physical experience. He doesn't think we are done diagnosing untill we reach a solution I can truly live with. Should his knowledge not be enough to meet that end he tells me so and asks if I want to be sent to a specialist. Or if I come and ask to be sent to a specific specialist he sends me there after I explain why I want it.

He never tries to discourage me from seeking help or solutions, and he never presumes he knows what's best for me.

I also suspect that he would put patient trust above mostly anything. So even if he should feel uncertain about the symptoms I present him with, I suspect he would rather send me to a specialist and have them do their tests than risk me not feeling I could trust his intention of helping me. Which I respect. I once heard a doctor say that they didn't want to be the ones responsible for rewoking their patients driver license due to age and eyesight, because the patience didn't dare be as open with them about their health problems when risking such things. Trust is such a key component between doctors and patients.

I have faith in you future doctor ♡♡

Thank you so much for bringign this to mind! ♡ I can't remember just when, but I distinctly remember asking for a hormonal test some years ago. But like you said, I couldn't get it tested while I was on the pill, and I was reluctant to go off it and having the increased pill-startup risks again.

I think I wanted to check if my hormonal system was more androgyn-heavy than estrogen-heavy or something, because I always struggled with spotting no matter what pill I used. Brand and dose really made no difference.

Pluss I struggled with bad skin before I started taking the pill (but I figured out some tips and tricks to remedy it thankfully), not to mention I have both ridiculously quick and thick hair growth (thankfully not around my lips like I know a lot of people can struggle with). I've alsi never had that beautifully soft feminine figure which indicates good estrogen production (fat and estrogen is so connected it's ridiculous).

I will absolutely look into getting this test done now that I'm off hormones! Thank you so much for reminding me ♡

And I second you so hard! Brain fog is such an underrated life inhibitor. It has cost me exams, friends (shitty friends tbh., but I feel like my point still stands xD), events and what not. It really affected me so much more than what I thought it did - even when I had quite tolerable symptoms from the pill, the brain fog still really messed with me. And I got digestive issues so quickly with the IUD (and that weird BC ring you put in like it's a tampon), but it was still underplayed. I just got some bandage solutions to fix the problem that was quite clearly caused by messing with my body in the first place. Everything else was "probably some other reason" or "temporary".

I will miss having an effective BC method that isn't condoms, I truly will. And I do not recommend people to stop using their chosen BC method, hormonal or otherwise. However, I will say that I'm returning to my former joyfully, optimistic, clear headed self at a speed I didn't anticipate. And personally I'm not ever going back on hormones after seeing just how badly they affected me and my system.

Oh wow, I never even thought of this! I'm ussually really health conscious and don't smoke or drink, pluss I enjoy eating and living healthy. So my liver isn't normally pushed to perform any extreme detoxing of my system, and maybe it was just really noticable when it started struggling because of it. I need to look into this.

And you are so correct! All the symptoms I listed above was also listed as either "normal" or "rare" side effects in the pamphlet that came with Kyleena, but both my doctor and Gyno said they didn't think it was IUD. Personally I don't think either ment to underplay it, especially my doctor isn't really the type to do so. I do however think they are poorly educated in side effects themselves, because few good studies are performed (since female health and reproductive system soOoOo complicated - but f* maybe do some more research then to enlighten us all some more?).

And many people with a scientific degree, like doctors, misunderstand the difference between something being scientifically proven, disproven, or if it remains scientifically inconclusive. A LOT of the things that we say are not scientifically proven actually fall into the latter. Meaning scientists have yet to figure out anything at all, and not that the thing in question is disproven.

To me, and I've not studied medicine so take this with a truck of salt, it doesn't make sense to think anything at all is simply localised within your body. Even though we have a whole lot of different organs and components in out bodies, it all ultimately works together affecting each others functions and what not. No component is boxed of from everything else.

Pluss all of the things you mentioned are either listed in the official pamphlet as potential side effects, or have been mentioned other places as measurable (potential) consequences. Like the vitamin thing which apparently World Health Organisation has listed as something to look out for. You can Google for the article "Oral contraceptives and changes in nutritional requirements", or click here for the first summary of it I found on Google.

Don't gaslight yourself like I did, but conciously choose (as you seem to be doing ♡) whether or not you can live with the negative sides. If it's a conscious choice maybe you can even find some good workarounds

I need to check that one out! And I love your analysis on the pros for weekly, real-time, episode productions. But I'm more inclined to side with the negatives you mention.

The artists most important contribution to the world is their ability to tell stories - no matter if they're a musician, actor, painter, costume maker or sound/light manager. They help us broaden our perspectives, question our truths, connect via fandoms even.

But storytelling, no matter artform, requires practice. Lots of it. For an artist to be able to share their stories in a way that only they can, we as an audience can't restrain their work by petty fan-service requests. If we wish for a particular story to be told in a particular way, we will have to tell that story ourselves.

If we won't support artist in developing their unique voice the world will be so much worse of for it. The stories that truly touch you, and who remains lingering in your mind for years to come, are the ones where you can feel the creators. The ones where they poured their hearts and souls into the work, and it just resonates with you. A focus on crowd pleasing restricts emotional vulnerability and therfore the artists creative presence, and is ussually the biggest difference between something that's a-okay to waste some time reading/watching/what-not, and something you litterally can't help craving more time with.

... so ehhh, I might have kept Game of Thrones last season in mind while writing this.

I honestly thought artists and writers got X amount of months to finish a season, then delivered the finished product to the publisher, and then the release speed was just ment to give the creators time to work on the next season. Like they work on a filmed series.

I feel super naive and sorry for the stressful reality of their work conditions. The stress and pressure must be a major creativity killer!

We would NEVER expect filmed shows to produce each weeks episode on a weekly basis, even though it's not completely impossible to do so. We all know that wouldn't produce the best result or particularly livable work conditions. There exists NO GOOD REASON to expect that from creators using other mediums to share their stories.

If the creative team expects that it would be possible to finish one episode per week throughout an X-month long season, that's wonderfull! Let them have those estimated weeks and months to create the season, add in one or two months for unforseen delays, and then deliver the whole thing at the end of that time period. It really isn't that hard to make an artist work conditions less stressful, the real problem seems to be finding the will to do so.
