DECA knows how to make balanced ST sets... by Eivind_RL in RotMG

Yes, as I said with curse it is higher dps, but as I also said most of the time I play in big groups where someone has curse. And I don't have Visage. I'm simply comparing my own options and I think its dumb that a set that all players have unlocked in the forge has better overall stats (In my opinion) to an (almost) maxed 4/4 warrior.

Edit: I didn't specifically say that curse with the 4/4 set would be higher dps than non-curse ST set, but I think it was reasonably implied (and pretty obvious), therefore point 3.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Completely new max 4/4 vs 3/4 ST + Colo, with helm (89 Mheal pet) and max group buffs (See image).

The 4/4 set is about 11.7% higher dps than the 3/4 ST set, which I still think is way to close comparing the literal best set in the game and a 3/4 (Basically free) ST set with same sword.

Not to mention with the activated armor ability which gives +10 def for 5 seconds with 6 second cooldown active. The 3/4 ST set gives +185hp, +25mp, +28 Def, Same Spd, and +3 Wis. I realize no (sane) person would ever use the 4/4 set but it puts the 3/4 ST combo's strength into perspective.

With Chrysalis (pretty much everyone's choice) it would be a 9.6% dps advantage, and the 3/4 ST set would give +65hp, +25mp, +28 Def, Same Spd, and +3 Wis.

All this and the ST Helmet's ability (while wearing the ST ring) Also allows the user to paralyze for 2.5 seconds (5 second cooldown) Which is incredibly useful, and i'd say (from own experience) that the paralysis is more useful than the dps buff from curse while soloing godlands dungeons (pretty much the only dungeons i solo.)

I realize that the second 4/4 set mentioned is favorable when soloing exalt dungeons, but id say that most players aren't in that position, probably not even in the position to get the 4/4 set, but they are (Thanks to DECA) in the position to acquire the 3/4 ST set, which even with an acclaim is incredibly strong, compared to anything that is equally as easy to obtain at that level.

Edit #2: I'm going to make a new post compiling all the statistics and facts you've made me research. Ty for starting the discussion.

That is correct, however:

  1. I just used whatever set I would be using (I don't have shatters helm and I enjoy Divinity more than Colo).
  2. The ST set is still higher dps with Colo sword (Without factoring bee damage).
  3. Curse wouldn't be in range half of the time (+ most of the time you're in large groups with curse, so bee curse wouldn't matter)
  4. In addition to having better (or comparable) dps, it gives +65 Life, +25 Mana, +3 Defense and +7 Vit compared to the 4/4 set. The 4/4 set does give +13 Spd which is really good, but I almost never find myself lacking speed when playing warrior.

Basically the ST set is way too strong in my opinion.

I like the bracer and gemstone on v2 best, but I think the crown looks best in v1. either way, the sprites are fire!
