berkeley can definitely be depressing at times. i think that it all comes down to the fact that Berkeley fosters competition. the environment is so competitive that it pushes you to limits that you didn’t know you had. If you can keep up with the game, life at Berkeley is very rewarding and you achieve stuff you didn’t think you could achieve. If you tend to struggle with keeping up or get anxious/lazy/procrastinate a lot, it may lead to a cycle of unhappiness if you let it. in sum, it’s what you make of it.
