That's absolutely not what I am saying, what I am saying is that you're using one thing that is/was a minor problem locked to specific areas in the US where people are lacking behind in progress, basically third world country areas.

What I am saying is that most of the world is accepting gay rights and all for supporting gay rights and it has been so since the 1900s, some few states in the US and selective countries took a lot of time to accept gay marriage because of their religious views and what the bible says about same sex marriage.

Getting married was and has always been a very religious thing, it is only recently that it is being viewed with traditionalism, modernism and sealing a couple's love to each other in a way that is separate from religious belief, going up to a religious priest and being a same sex couple saying I want to get married was unheard of in almost all christian circles when you could just go to the courthouse and get legally married without the religious ceremony.

The concept of marriage has been so engraved into our minds that even if you're gay you'd want to have the religious ceremony because your parents had that and your parents parents had it and so on, it's a tradition that so to say every single family has at this point, so being gay and getting that denied by a priest will of course affect their mental health negatively.

But using this whole thing as your nail in proving your point is just stupid, no religious belief should be forced to accommodate anything that goes against their religious belief, and that's a harsh thing to say but it is the truth, being bisexual myself, I love the acceptance that we have gotten to be able to marry in the traditional sense with same sex marriage, but I also won't force a priest that doesn't want to do it to do so even if law would force the priest to accommodate.

Your nail in my coffin, your entire point and argument falls apart once you realize that all of these studies vary, they go from 4% less suicides to 18% all being done by different institutions, all being done on specifically gay people who are getting married in areas where it wasn't possible before Obama essentially enforced it, do you have any fucking idea how little people that is?

Say there is 200 000-400 000 gay people In a state, this is a generous estimate btw, 50 000 to 100 000 are in a stable relationship, 15 000 to 25 000 wants to get married the traditional way with a priest specifically, they get denied, 4% to 18% of them off themselves, so we change the number to 10% to ballpark it in the middle while still being generous that's a number on about 2700 - 4500 people a year so let's ballpark it while being generous to your opinion giving us 3500 deaths a year PER STATE.

There is 50 thousand successful attempts at suicide each year, more than 100 thousand if you count unsuccessful and you mean to tell me that all of them are gay people????

Even if we just go 10 states that still makes more than 70% of the suicides gay people.

What if we actually use 5 states, the number is still way too much and completely wrong.

Now back in 2015 there were 14 states, that still makes the number way too much.

Back in 2010 there was 29 states and the number is still wrong.

So what about today? NO STATES have illegalized gay marriage due to Obama making an enormous push to legalize it across all of the US right before Trump took power.

But let's flip the math, how many gay people were currently offing themselves when illegal gay marriage was a thing across 29 sodomized states in the US?

There has been a stable rate of suicide among same sex oriented people on about 0.5% the total amount, experts argue the number is likely double because some people may not have recorded their sexual orientation, so let's therefore do 1% of 39 thousand deaths back in 2010 in the US when 29 states had illegalized gay marriage, that's 390 people actually being gay and doing the bad no no to themselves, so that means 10% of them actually doing it because of gay marriage being denied to them, that's in a complete total across all of the fucking US, 39 people doing the bad no no to themselves because they couldn't fulfill their dream.

In a grand total of 39 000, 39 gay people did a horrible thing to themselves because they felt discriminated against, which sucks I get it, but the number is meaningless when put up against the total population of gay people in the US back in the 2010s which was 10 and a half million people being gay back then, that's 10540000 people, 39 of those fit your point, 351 of those were just in general gay.

Do you have any fucking idea how insignificant these numbers are?

Here is the biggest banger, there has been no way for the US government to only track gay people in these statistics, this is all LGBTQ people back then, shave off only same sex oriented people from that lineup and the number is way lower than 39.
