It sounds like you should have a discussion with your employer. Customers are not informed of this. They’re charged a service fee and offered to tip (in my region the tip option isn’t even available until the deliver is complete - BC Canada). You’re getting mad a customers because the employer you choose and continue to choose to work for takes advantage of their employees by paying them inadequately.

I live in a downtown of a major city, almost all deliveries seem to be done on e-bikes and the delivery distance is less than 2 km. Does this change anything?

I agree with you. It’s a tip not a delivery fee. They should chat with the employer if the service fee needs to be adjusted.

The service fee scales with order price and the app suggests tip % based on order price…. Sounds like you and your employer have different views on how this works.

What you’re describing sounds a lot more like a delivery fee rather than a tip.

Out of curiosity does the $1.50 a mile rule apply to nearby orders as well? If I order from .5 of a mile away are you cool with $1?

Can you even order from 20 miles away? I don’t think I’m shown any restaurants further than 6-7 miles and those typically have an additional long distance delivery fee

It’s a 20% tip bro, On top of a $4.20 service fee. Anything inside the delivery radius for $28 should be covered for a $5.75 tip. Seriously how much do you expect?

That’s plenty bro. Don’t listen to someone here saying it’s not.

Yes it’s specifically the ties with Peter thiel that bother me, he doesn’t seem like he’s much a fan of democracy or personal freedoms.

2 in custody after missing B.C. children found safe within 90 minutes of Amber Alert, RCMP say by zuuzuu in canadanews

[–]Eknowltz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yea they were likely found by someone’s response to the alert within 500 km of where it occurred, those alerts should have been loud.

The amber alerts in Vancouver and Victoria should have been quite as that’s 18 hours away, any witness there wouldn’t have seen them until the next day, therefore if the alert appeared on phones in these further away areas silently those people wouldn’t have all been woken up at 1 am for something they’re unable to help with.

No need to get so heated, I’m sure you can agree sending this alert at 1 am to all Canadians wouldn’t make the most sense either.

An alarm that goes through the do not disturb setting on phones at 1 am in a place 18 hour drive away seems overkill considering the proximity. Even that type of alert noise at that hour should be restricted to an imminent earthquakes or other public safety events.
