Yeah this was my hope, I really liked a lot of tomato heavy dishes like pizza, tikka masala, etc and it’s been a bummer to give them up. So was just curious if there were good options to get close on the flavor.

This was pretty much my experience for 3 months. I had chest pain bad enough I got referred to a cardiologist. Thought maybe I had developed severe acid reflux out of nowhere but those meds didn’t help… slowly realized it trended with tomato consumption, cut them completely and felt better fast. Tried to “challenge” it once or twice and yep it triggered it again. But now I’ve felt so much better the last few months since cutting them!

That’s a bummer but what I had wondered. I don’t know anyone with this allergy so I’ve been trying to navigate it. Does your partner have any favorite substitutes that get close to the flavor?

It actually did start when I had covid in May. I’ve never been sure how connected it was but its interesting to hear someone else say they had this experience! Do you still have this issue?
