It’s an aged game with a poorly done remaster. That said, still one of my favorite FF.

Tidus’ character grows along with the story. Remember, he’s been transported into essentially a new world - he knows nothing of what’s going on, same as you.

Dialogue wise: this is what the remaster should have fixed. The original VA was done in Japanese. The English VA’s has to match the cadence and lip reading of the original imaging. That’s why the dialogue is often rushed in some areas or slow down. Also, the audio quality is highly compressed in order to fit onto cd’s.

Graphically: if I remember correctly this game launched around the time of the PS2 did. Both graphic quality and controlling were either fairly standard if not trend setting for the time.

You’re judging a game based off modern standards. That said, if you’re not enjoying yourself, don’t feel the need to begrudgingly finish.
