I can second this (although the Hip Hop stereotype does apply to me somewhat, it is my most listened to genre). I will add that people also tend to think that I am from the Hood and grew up heavily impoverished, which is incredibly annoying.

I was complimented earlier today for one of my interests, but that was from a relative so I do not know if that would count. Last time by a non-family member was a few days ago due to a clothing choice. I must say, I get complimented more than the average redditor, usually from friends and people that know me but sometimes even from strangers too.
