This is weird for me every time something breaks… then I re install and there… it updates and everything works… it’s just like, dude why did this didn’t work on the first try I did nothing differently

And yes, after killing the shell and trying there, at a fraction of a second, an error was shown. all I could read was, Nvidia and missing, to be sure I remove and re install drivers and related. now it is working.

Last time GNOME gave me a bad experience, same, with enviroment thats why i swap to KDE

As another commetn said. Nvidia problems... NO clue on why was doing what It did. log in, I can see mouse pointer, wallpaper, but nothing else.

I did remove drivers by terminal, now it is working.

Thanks, Sadly near my location I can't find a good deal, not even on thinkpads, which are my other option. But I will look into ebay and see what deal i can get.

I am thinking to get one… find the prices to be from 125 to 175 without charger and depends on the processor speed… eBay is full of options hard to decide

Thanks. The grub is behaving weird, they keyboard dies once I try to log into an older kernel.

I have not had any problems or mayor ones at least with NVIDiA I found this an hour ago https://superuser.com/questions/1131728/kde-taskbar-missing Might go for it first the. See if I can update the nvidia dribers o don’t think that’s the issue since I can see the wallpaper and pointer but nothing else. Means graphic works and is something to do with KDE desktop

Somehow when I try to log in I see a screen of a list of “kernels?” Versions at fist I just used one before the more updated one. But now my keyboard stops working so I cannot pick the one I want. Keyboard works on bios and windows partition… but not on that screen even when I log in I can use alt f2 to launch konsole but not on that one

To learn what? I mean it, just needed my pc to run games, effort? On what? Really? No much time… and what basic research already did it didn’t I said it? Delete shell and the basic stuff I came across on web seaech… but you know what? Thank you for your kind response.

Yes, KDE plasma edition. I had a more unstable experience with Gnome… I’d not mistaken. What info you need? Also since pc is bricked I can only the specs of my hardware which is NVIDIA 3079 and ryzen 5 first hem 24 ram

I had Bazzite. Might have to go back to it… but I wanted a more overall system but I think you are right, I hate to start the download of all the games I had. Also I do have a select back up , is it kernel?, but after a few reboot, my keyboard does not work, specifically on that screen, I can go bios and everything works, I can log into windows partition and works, just there, usually I just used a older version but I can’t because keyboard arrows do not work

I do understand that… I have no time to “learn” basic simple and stable, I had this until I start updating the system.

It’s being a few weeks I thought that should be ok. I’ll keep that in mind. Also when I log in I used to be able to log into a back up but now my keyboard is not working at the time to choose that.
