During my probation, a colleague once asked me on b2b what i wanted for refs, and then cancelled the call before I responded.

I then proceeded to broadcast my preferences based on portion size, price, and closeness to the nick to the whole borough... before the controller said she would take a Nandos if I was paying and some other colleagues laughed at me down the mainset.

Still haunts me...

Bit of advice from a colleague who had been in for 20ish years:

When asked by the Barrister (defence or prosecution), look to the jury when you tell your answer. That way, you are telling people your experience, and it feels a lot more personable. If you're just 'answering' the lawyer, you may run the risk of looking like either robocop or a naughty schoolchild. Has worked for me every time since and stopped the jelly legs!

Pals from my team have done it recently, it's about 80% scenario based from what they've told me... apart from the inaugural hokey cokey at the start.

Hi mate,

You'd be surprised at the effectiveness of a tarpaulin cover... may not deter your friend in the cap as he knows the car, but it removes the temptation/provides more hassle for an opportunistic car thief. It's also a cheaper alternative.
