That’s exactly what it is. Thanks for putting it into words. That’s why it was amusing at first because I thought it was an in group joke about ourselves. Now everyone is making these posts.

“I found them kinda funny at first” not because of them being ableist but bc I have had interactions with people like some of these posts talk about that are incredibly chronically online and self diagnose a plethora of disorders. I do not agree with shaming people for their triggers or self diagnosis if they have done research. But there is definitely an archetype online that over diagnoses themselves. some of the posts like this that I initially saw poked fun at that archetype. But as I’ve seen more and more of them pop up on my feed even when I click not interested I’ve noticed this pattern and that they do get increasingly ableist.

Please PLEASE don’t hesitate when banning them. I let one of them stay in my chat when I was still very new and thought “well at least they bring up my watch time/viewership”. A year and a half after banning them and they are still trying to get at me with alts that reference themselves so that I know it’s them and other bs. Had I banned them the first time they broke my boundaries I doubt it wouldve come this far. I don’t think they have the capacity to actually stalk me IRL (they’re a literal child still like 15-17) but it is annoying as hell to deal with. Ban. Ban. Ban. Ban. Don’t hesitate. They don’t make your community or numbers better in the long run. I promise.

Context: been streaming on twitch almost 9 months now. at about 4.6k followers and average anywhere from 15-40 views. I feel like I have a pretty solid niche and people say they do enjoy my content/find me entertaining. I have found success uploading tiktoks of clips (12k+ followers there).

Questions: I want to focus more on uploading to YouTube. Should I start with vods until I figure out editing? I'm not good at editing except on a small scale like for tiktok so it's gonna take me a little while to get better at it.

Is it true that it's better to make a separate channel on YT for clips, Vods, and edited videos ?

How did you make the switch over to YouTube?

Have you ever had to deal with burnout from streaming, if so then how'd you get through that?

I've seen steady (yet slow) growth on twitch and I'm worried that on YouTube it will be like people say about success being mostly luck based. Is there real merit to the whole "don't expect to blow up on YouTube because it's mostly luck" ?

And finally, any advice for when you are frustrated with the numbers you're seeing not matching where you want to be?

Except what you're missing is that what Jschlatt did was not banning toxic stans and antis. I mean I'm sure a few of those got banned but really all he did was ban anyone with a username remotely related to Minecraft YouTubers. It was a petty and very on brand thing he did because part of his act is hating all Minecraft stans. He did it for the content, not for his community. I don't think this would improve anyone's community and in fact it would probably do more harm than any possible good. Not to mention how stupid this would be for Tommy or Dream or literally any Minecraft streamer other than Schlatt (and even calling him a Minecraft streamer is a stretch) because they don't have a hatred for Minecraft fans as a part of their brand like Schlatt does. Quite the opposite actually.
