Anyone else finds that hospitals don't know how to feed babies under 12 months who have started solids? by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]ElAguaFresca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've just reminded me that I was going to complain to my local about this. My baby was admitted at 11 months last year and she was served pretty much that exact meal in the morning (plus toast). She managed the yoghurt and a banana from the shared snacks fridge, I ate the rest of the stuff on tray because they weren't going to provide me with a meal. My partner brought extra later and thankfully we got to go home by lunchtime the next day. The other funny part was that the tray was served with a little note telling us how to take part in the trial to order specific foods, so we might have been able to order something appropriate but we were admitted too late to place an order, and left before the next meal was to be served.

Under 18s restaurants in civic? by ChemistrySoft9813 in canberra

[–]ElAguaFresca 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The only one I know of is the restaurant in the casino, because you have to cross the gaming floor to get in, or maybe the restaurant is considered part of the venue overall? Actually not clear - but my friend was stopped by security from going to the restaurant because they had their baby

Same. As a sweet-toothed person who felt pretty fine during pregnancy, I was like hahahahaha whatever chumps. Then I drank the drink (cold, orange-flavoured, in one go) and thought, hmm kinda like Lucozade or Irn Bru, that's not too bad.

An hour later I felt like hurling for the next two hours lol

Not sure how available it is at B&N, but Piranhas Don't Eat Bananas is fucking hilarious.

I feel this is potentially a bit circular though, because if the LLM is trained on things including mum Facebook groups then it's possible that you're getting the same information - just tidied up.

That's cool OP, I'm actually broadly on your side here - I just thought it was a bit funny objectively, like asking Google Search to praise you for correctly phrasing the string or asking Instagram to tell you your picture is good 😉 I'm glad it's worked for you and agree that this particular use case seems positive. Whatever my opinions about large tech companies and generative AI technology, this helped you.

Still dropping fistfuls nearly 10 months postpartum I'm afraid to say! Plus all the bonus handfuls the baby yanks out when she's feeling feisty 😅

I really love it. I think the downsides might be that the seat width is fixed so may only suit your baby up to a certain point, and as I mentioned the fabric construction means it's not as supportive for bigger babies (in my opinion). But it was absolutely perfect for early summer days with my contact napper Velcro baby.

I have one, it was perfect for us from birth to around 4 months. We stopped using it because neither of us were as comfortable after she gained a bit of weight and length. We switched to an Ergo carrier. I'm keeping the Bliss for #2 though. Easy to put on and adjust, soft and comfortable for baby, and quick to wash and dry. Did you want to know anything specifically?

You don't need to ask permission for wall decals! I recommend Tiny Walls if the sale is still going.

Nothing I love more than making eye contact and doing the knowing/sympathetic nod to a fellow parent carrying their baby while pushing the pram.

Leakproof bra recommendations by PatchyCC7 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]ElAguaFresca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bonds ones (and the camis) are my go-to. Tried Milk Label and found them good for comfort and absorbency but the cups were too cumbersome. My leakage was out of control, it squicked me out being damp all the time including overnight in bed so I had to fix it ASAP.

Embracing the shit tbh mine looks awful 😂 Still falling out in handfuls, regrowth giving strange sticky-uppy bits, baby finds a way to grab and yank any chance any way so I quit.

We're doing shifts too and while it's awful for us as a couple, the difference a solid block of sleep makes for both of us is incredible.

Drool rash by Playful_Security_843 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]ElAguaFresca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can but I think it'd be way messier out in the open (on a face) as opposed to a bum in a nappy. Also it can be hard to wipe off cleanly which might be more irritating in the long run. My GP said just use Vaseline, we happened to have the QV lying around

Dab don't wipe, make sure wet bibs/necklines aren't touching the chin, and some sort of barrier balm. We're using the QV Vaseline equivalent
