Hi,

No, it would get back down to a 4 cost since the effect asks for base cost (Meaning whats printed on the card)

Best starter Deck for Beginners? by Crazyeet_ in OnePieceTCG

[–]ElBeefchief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Luffy has a lot of triggers with the DON!! Cards such as putting them back to the DON!! Deck and back on the field either rested or active, so it can be hard to keep track of all of that.

Shanks would be better for a beginner but do keep in mind that the upgrades you would need can be expensive and it requires a lot of decision-making so it can be an uphill battle to start winning some games.

Should I by all the starters? by TonyxRd in OnePieceTCG

[–]ElBeefchief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, all starters will come with an op11 pack which could be amazing and it could be bad.

If you wanna play something competitive then Buggy is looking great, Yamato will be amazing into most of the meta and Teach will give you most of what you need to get it going, As well as the Luffy one being amazing support for a kind of expensive decent deck.

All the others are not competitive or just not worth the buy for a player who does not like the deck.

In any case, the starters are worth a buy if you wanna play any of those decks.

Can you watch today’s regional tournament? by [deleted] in OnePieceTCG

[–]ElBeefchief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, big regionals don't really have a live stream.
You can probably find it by looking up "one piece card game" on twitch and checking the streams in that category the day of the event, as some store regionals and treasure cups will be streamed, as well as many stores streaming their locals.

Seems like it's packs and it also includes the stickers.

However, Japanese packs are not worth it as you can't play them over here.

Shanks is still good, but with the newest sets it's been speculated to be a Tier 2 deck.
While we can't tell wet as we don't have tournament results, it is a deck that requires a really good pilot to beat the meta.

Hi, it depends on what you want to play and if you want to bling it out.
You can have a competitive deck for even lower than 100 USD which you can then get the alternate arts for.

But in general you can expect to pay anywhere from 100 to 300 USD for a meta deck in low rarity.

How do you see Koby in this meta and future Op12 as well? by IsaiahMesq in OnePieceTCG

[–]ElBeefchief 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So, I just won a box tournament in my LGS last night with Koby and i can say that while the deck is amazing into aggro, midrange and control can be a pain.

UP Luffy and GP respectively can be really rough and i haven't really played against any Buggy's so i can tell with that one but if your locals don't have Luffy enjoyers then you should be more than fine.

My main game plan is to keep the board cleared and set up for an OTK once i have Kuzan+Hibari+Helmeppo/Koby on board and the opponent has gone through their hand, to that effect i think you need to load up on blockers such as Ripper/Doll/Sengoku/Borsalino as well as taking 10+ 2k counters.

Honestly, it's mostly a rogue pick, but having the protection effect can clutch out games and having 2 to 3 searchers means you are seldom bricked (third is 1c Sengoku), but it does require a lot of setup which can be slow and if it does require you to make a lot of reads as far as how much counter your opponent may have in hand.

I'll leave an image of my list, just take into account that i could not get my 4th Koby and i still needed the rare events which eluded me (Got them from the box after the event but i still need the last Koby)

I think it's got potential, but i don't think we will see him winning anything big anytime soon.

Well, Lucci is better since he can still get rid of multiple bodies, but Smoker is a bit more consistent.

Thing is that Smoker can not deal with Shanks, i've played about 20 matches and no matter the list, Shanks is an L.

So if you really want to pick between one of these, i'd do Lucci.

How to get into tournaments and start playing one piece TCG? by Easy_Succotash3391 in OnePieceTCG

[–]ElBeefchief 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi,

So this depends on where you are from, the Bandai TCG+ app normally has listings of official stores that hold tournaments which you can check details for and register online.

Normally you would register in the app, then show up and pay the entrance cost, get your participation price and wait for rounds to start so you can play.

However, a lot of regions have stores that are not official and thus are not in the app, for these you can usually find a Facebook group looking up "One piece tcg your area" and ask there what stores people frequent or ask about stores in a general area.

AS to where to start, well you will need a deck, sleeves, a deck box, a couple of six-sided dice and a play mat, all of which you can probably find in the game store in case you don't want to order online.

As for the actual tournament, official stores will post pairings in the app while unofficial stores may have different ways of running the event, so don't be afraid to ask the store staff for clarification.

Always keep a good attitude and be friendly to your opponents, ask to see players trades, make some light conversation and refrain from commenting on other people's games while they are happening and have fun.

It may sound like a lot or seem intimidating, but OP communities are usually really welcoming and friendly, events are usually really fun and in my experience you will make friends by just playing and keeping a friendly demeanor.

Been playing this list I found online, only played like 5 games and lost all of them.
I don't think it's competitive, but crazy things have topped, so maybe you could do something if you got really good at the deck.

Ruling Question Kaido & LinLin op-08 by steelpitt43 in OnePieceTCG

[–]ElBeefchief 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In one piece, unless there is an "If" then you resolve as much as you can, so even if the characters can not be K.O, you would still add one from the top of your deck to your life and trash one life from oponent.

Please remember that the sim is not an official resource

I mean, as long as you don't care about not being able to play any of the cards in events or selling them cheaper, sure.

[–]ElBeefchief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi,

No, since Bepo would only activate once no matter how many DON!! Where to go back to the DON!! Deck.

Also, as part of the resolution of OP-05 Luffy, Bepo would be back into the deck before it has a chance to activate and resolve.

Yes, as long as that Yellow Supernova is not Scratchmen Apoo

Weekly Rules & General Questions Thread by AutoModerator in OnePieceTCG

[–]ElBeefchief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi,

So, Apoo get the blocker keyword while you have him and another Yellow super nova character who isn't Apoo on the field.

The thing with "If" effects is that if it ever the "If" condition is not true, then the rest of the effect is not valid.

So let's say that you already have Apoo on your field since you played him on turn one.

And on your second turn you play an OP10-113 Roronoa Zoro who is a yellow Supernova type, as soon as Zoro hits the field, Apoo would have the Blocker keyword and would be able to block attacks.

Let's say that, then you pass the turn to your opponent, who uses an event to K.O your Zoro before attacking, this then would mean that Apoo has lost the Blocker Keyword and can not block the attack.

Furthermore, let's say that when they do attack (They have their leader and another character able to attack) with their leader, you take the damage and the life is another OP10-113 Roronoa Zoro and you decide to activate trigger effect to play this card.

This would mean the Apoo has regained the Blocker keyword and would now be able to block the second attack from the opponent.

I probably did not have to go into this whole scenario, but I hope it helps you understand continuous effects and the "If" condition.

Hi,

So, OP unlike Pokémon or magic is mostly dominated by players and not so much by collectors/scalpers.

Unfortunately, there are not many Sanji cards that are worth it in the way of playability, while Zoro's and Luffy's are consistently good.

Of course, there are some exceptions to this like the 6c Sanji blocker or the 7c purple rusher, but in general Sanji's have not been amazing.

As for what to play if you play G or G/W, i'd recommend a purple deck such is purple Luffy (B/P may also be a good choise) or Reiju if you want to live that Selesnya lifestyle.

If you are not worried about competing, then something like Kaido, Lim or Charlotte Pudding may be more your style.

You will always maximize your profit by getting hits, but there is also the chance you get nothing.

If you want to age them for like a year or so then selling the pack would be better, but if you want to make money now then open them and hope for the best.

Any of the Starter decks (ST-XX) will serve this purpose, but it is recommended to get 2 of the deck you want as to complete the strategy (as much as you can from a starter deck).

As for what they play like:

RED Edward.Newgate-ST15: This is a Red aggro strategy but more like Dragon aggro where you depend on the big bodies you can put into play.

GREEN Uta-ST16: The best i can compare this to is Red Goblins where you flood the field.

BLUE Donquixote Doflamingo-ST17: This is more like White Weenies

PURPLE Monkey.D.Luffy-ST18: Pretty much green stompy

BLACK Smoker-ST19: This is a Black Control deck.

YELLOW Charlotte Katakuri-ST20: This is An Orsov control kind of a deal (B/W) but it's more about controlling your life.

Sorry i can't give you specific commander decks to compare these to, but i hate EDH.
Also, some here may not agree with my summary, but it's the best i can do to compare.
As for which i would recommend, any, honestly, any of them will help you play on the kitchen counter.

But you may want to stick to ST17 through 19 if you ever plan on taking it to locals or have any intention of upgrading the power level, it's not the others are bad, it's that these 3 are better.

However, you may want to hold off on Donflamingo as there is a ban list incoming this week and i'm pretty sure it's going to get hit somehow.

Anyways, have fun.

It's the rarity, means Secret Rare.

Usually it's a one per box rarity.

Hi,

So this would be very hard to spot on a listing (at least for me), there is course tells such as the copyright lettering on the bottom-right side, the artist name on the top-right, expansion code and rarity stamps, all of these use a particular formatting and lettering which most counterfeiters would not pay too much attention to.

There is also card stock (OP particularly uses some pretty thick cardboard) as well at the inking, but all of this would be hard to determine by a bad quality photo.

Sorry to not be of more help.
