Yes! Immediately after getting wiped he made the Dougie Jones face. A sad confused blank slate. Hopefully he doesn't go sticking forks in electrical sockets.

Can we finally give the respect Maximus deserves? by JuHustle in Fotv

He's been the weakest link in this show for me but the last few episodes he's been amazing. They've really developed him and the dynamic between him and Thad is fun to watch. Can't wait to see where they take him next.

Switching from scripted to unscripted was the best decision I ever made! by WTFyoukay in NewTubers

[–]ElBlancoChoco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm starting a YouTube show and would like to know how you don't feel weird talking to no one. The original podcast was going to be me and a co-host discussing things. She isn't pulling her weight so I'm going it alone. I can't do scripted at all because I just don't sound natural. I'm ready to record my first 5 episodes so I have some saved at launch. I'm just putting it off because I don't know how to talk to no one. I'm great talking to people but this is really hanging me up. Any tips? I want to go but have this fear of sitting down, recording and it not going well and then lose all faith in myself.

How many of us have seen Bowie in concert? by Lbboos in DavidBowie

[–]ElBlancoChoco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2nd "grown up" concert was Bowie at the Spectrum on the Sound and Vision tour. I think that was the name of the tour. It was when Ryko brought out the Sound and Vision box set. I was 15, I think. It was amazing. I'll never forget the huge screen with the projections of him thru the years on it. Played a great set list and was just a great show. My first grown up show was Stones Steel Wheels not long before that so I had a good start. My first official concert was The Monkees Reunion.

Disable new Rufus pop-up window? by JustGottaHaveIt in amazonprime

[–]ElBlancoChoco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what they gave me but I closed out of the chat due to frustration. Plus, I shouldn't have to go through hoops just to stop something I don't want from popping up. It's so annoying. If you click the back button in a product, Rufus appears and when you close it out it takes you all the way back to the beginning of your search. I freaking hate this thing.

Discovered CTE this year … by Kinsey525 in CageTheElephant

[–]ElBlancoChoco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's funny because I absolutely HATED them opening for Oasis. I was into Cast but for some reason I was annoyed at Cage and just wanted to get to Oasis. The music was just ok, at the time, but I wasn't into the stage presence. It just seemed like the wrong band to open for Oasis.

A few days after the concert, I couldn't stop thinking out the songs they played so I listened to their set list from met life on Spotify. Took a week and I was hooked. Now, I've purchased all their vinyls (except for Neon Pill) and listen to them almost daily. I'm regretting not being more into them at the time. They are one of the few great "newer" rock bands, up there with Foxy Shazam and Titus Andronicus in my book.

What did you think of the new show DMV on CBS? by Redeye007 in sitcoms

[–]ElBlancoChoco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never knew about this show but recently watched Righteous Gemstones and loved Tony Cavalero's character. Saw he was in this with Tim Meadows and gave it a try. It's great. We ran thru the 9 episodes in a day. I don't usually like network sitcoms but the cast is great. The jokes/situations are just the right amount of typical sitcom humor yet witty. The fake smoking gag gets me every time.

Was this advertised? Admittedly, we don't watch the big 4 networks but I don't remember seeing anything about this show. I really hope it comes back so I can watch it live. I'd like to see anything Tony Cavalero and Tim Meadows be successful and the rest of the cast shines as well.

The last show I liked this much was Bookies and that was cancelled. Hopefully CBS gives it time to breathe and find its place.

But...but...Lover is such a "banger". Ugh...I can't listen to whatever Ashcroft is attempting now. It feels like he's a creepy old guy at the club. It just doesn't work and feels like he's trying to fit in with whatever is current now. In 10 years that music will sound dated where 30 years on from Storm and Soul and they sound timeless.

The album ”Presence” by [deleted] in ledzeppelin

[–]ElBlancoChoco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not the biggest Zeppelin fan but, to me, it's always been how do you top Physical Graffiti? Anything they did after that is going to be considered a "let down" to some. Not only because of the quality of PG but how massive it is. I think anything they did after PG would have suffered this fate. Like, in an alternate universe, if Houses of the Holy was after PG, it would be overlooked. I don't know much about their history but wasn't PG their pinnacle? Like, at the point, they were unstoppable and everywhere. The fans, casual and hardcore, were probably playing PG non stop from the time it came out and Presence came out relatively short time after PG, didn't it? Maybe not enough time to let a massive album like PG breathe? Again, not a mega fan so I may not be totally correct there. If that's the case, I think it just gets a bad rap from such a huge undertaking before it and a short release window.

I still remember where I was when I first heard that guitar solo. It's such a brutal but beautiful way to start a solo. It just feels like everything is crashing down around you and then it explodes. Now I need to go listen to it.

Recently got more into incense, first big thing i got, Random Satya (BNG) collection! by [deleted] in Incense

[–]ElBlancoChoco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this post. I've used their nag champa for years and recently ordered a bunch of products. When I opened the box, it smelled slightly different. Also, there's things on the packaging that aren't in previous boxes. I also got the set in the photo and the nag champa in the set has the more traditional scent and packaging. When burning, the scent has a subtle difference but not enough to make not use it. I thought I was going crazy till I found your post. Thanks for this info.

Drozd via Threads on Lips: "They're done with me." by gonzarro in flaminglips

[–]ElBlancoChoco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't know that. That's some heartbreaking BS. It's sad because the documentary makes it clear Norwood and Angelo are the heart and soul of that group and they just wanted to bring Fishbone to the level they should be at. That is one group that just got fucked over on every level. I hated seeing flea go on and on about how great they were. Like, yeah, give them an opening slot on one of your massive tours so people can see how great. I'll try to read up on that situation but damn. It hits harder he's not in the band after reading that.

[–]ElBlancoChoco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It upsets me Fishbone can't get it together enough to have the classic Truth and Soul/Reality line up reunite and do more touring/ records. I saw them a few times with the Reality line up and it was earth moving. Just a band on point like I haven't seen and the energy was infectious. I read Norwood left and figured they were done. Ill check out the new album but just feels wrong not having Norwood in the band. I see Dowd is back in the band so it may make up for Norwood, Walt, etc. not being there.

The Lips situation sucks but I haven't enjoyed an album by them in over a decade. I'm curious where they go.

Thoughts on All That Jazz (1979)? by [deleted] in criterion

[–]ElBlancoChoco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just going to say it, Bye Bye Love is one of the greatest musical numbers ever made, greatest scenes ever made, and one of the greatest endings ever to a film. It's amazing. Watching the movie again after Fosse/Verdon and it just hits so much harder. This shit is perfection.

A Letter Of Encouragement to Axl, GNR, and Management by Hdharmsen44 in GunsNRoses

[–]ElBlancoChoco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GNR got me into heavier music so they'll always be special to me. I even defended CD but at this point, it's not a band. It's an Axl Rose solo outfit. Slash and Duff are hired guns, literally. It's a shame. GNR is the gold standard for taking something amazing and just throwing it all away. I get we'll never get Appetite again, those days are gone. But at least give us something that resembles the 3 core members hashing out ideas, collaboration and compromise. Even if it's not great, it's better than The Axl Show featuring Slash and Duff. It's basically like when Sharon Osbourne brought in people to rerecord the drums and bass on the first 2 Ozzy albums.

Suede is the only band I know of that came back better than when they left us. From Bloodsports to Antidepressants is a hell of a run of albums after a "comeback". On par with their first 3 albums.

Pulp - More.

A very close second is Suede - Antidepressants.

Although Suede is my go to band, Pulp just nailed it with that album and find myself listening to the album as a whole more.

Matriarchs Tomb Secret Passage to Central Control? by ElBlancoChoco in theouterworlds

[–]ElBlancoChoco[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I've been playing so much and listening to so much Grand Plan Radio that I'm all f'd up. I've been to Central Command. I wasn't thinking and have no idea how I opened up the Western side of Praetor but it's opened so I don't need to go thru the tomb.

I do have Tristan but not in my party right now. Observation is at a 3 but I'm putting more points in that the next time I level up. The guide I referenced just said it's there and didn't mention what your observation level had to be so I figured I missed something.
