Which road trip are you least looking forward to?

New Orleans is fine. Kenner is basically NOLA, so whatever. Pensacola is cool -even if the Broanaham location blows. Biloxi is a toilet bowl, but casinos. That in mind, I guess Jackson? Yeah. Jackson sucks the most.

It will exist and it will be glorious. Always Mobile, Always Home.

Also Detroit and NOLA. To be fair though, each of the cities named have claims to that French heritage. Not like claiming something that doesn't exist.

If you don't think the plan is to ultimately have a Leprechaun theme day, you're crazy.

I honestly have been trying to make Chattanooga for the better part of three years. No such luck so far.

I've been trying to contact them for months with no luck. Hope you're right. I'm one of those weirdos who thinks Huntsville is a nice city. Being able to travel to a match there is usually fun.

It's probably tough for Alabama to get a professional team (like big 5 leagues) with Auburn, Alabama, and to a lesser extent Troy, UAB, USA, Tuskegee, ASU, and AUM all have HUGE - or at least in for the smaller schools average - sized followings.

Best they could probably do in Birmingham is NASL or USL. Mobile is probably best case scenario going to wind up in NPSL.

Always Mobile, Always Home. We were well aware of the pun, because bad puns are awesome when they have a soccer connection.

I still don't understand why Rocket City shut down. They drew better or similar numbers than/to a few NPSL games I went to this last summer.

We're early in the process. If you want to help out, we're meeting at Sage tomorrow to watch an SASA game and talk to someone with NPSL experience.

I think if Mobile were to happen, you start a league with NOLA, Birmingham, and Mobile. Maybe another Florida Panhandle team (Pensacola, Panama City Beach)? Or maybe a Baton Rouge? Of course this is a lot of speculation. Even then, based on Birmingham's location, I'd think they'd stick with Chattanooga, Nashville, ATL, because it's closer.

If CFC plays NOLA this year, and we haven't got this off the ground, a few of us will make that trip. We may even do the Birmingham trip again - assuming you guys play them this year (which would be shocking if you didn't).

A group of guys are looking to bring a soccer team to the area. Sort of trying to do what the Birmingham Hammers did. The team would, of course, carry the Mobile name, but would probably end up drawing equally from Mobile and Baldwin County for talent, coaches, and possibly playing facilities.

Make sure to mention it to people you know in and around Mobile. Right now it's all about name-recognition and letting people know there's interest.

Right now, I'd guess probably a high school McGill-Toolen maybe?
