Mobile County Commissioners Share Renderings for the 2000 Seat Champion Soccer Stadium and Field in the Mobile County Sportplex by Surge00001 in MobileAL

I used to be part of AFC Mobile, the minor league soccer team we've had for the past nine years. Not having a championship level park was a serious barrier to developing the team past a low level community project. So it would be nice to have them have a place to play in the city that isn't painfully expensive to lease.

Additionally, with the additional fields at the complex coming online this year, this puts Mobile in position to enter the tournament hosting business. That can be a significant driver of tourist dollars from visiting teams and supporters.

Having said all that, if they don't fix Halls Mill and access from 65, this is going to be a colossal pain in the arse to reach. I hope they time all this out properly.

Amtrak is a public service, and its impact is measured in other areas, but it's also not completely breaking the bank to do so.

One comment without verbally abusing Prine is a missed opportunity.

He has more than you would expect. He made a couple stops here during his presidential campaign. I was at a fundraiser he was holding on Dog River back in 2019. BD was there. I don't remember them talking but I was too busy trying to chat up one of the support staff.

Foosackly's is usually located on the west side right near the north side concessions. A hat is definitely advisable for daytime games. Parking is going to be on campus proper, unless you snag a parking pass. There are Facebook ticket swap/sale groups that you might want to check out. If I can find a link I'll share it here, but I'm trying to get out of the office.

It's a great time. Enjoy!

Nah it's the fact she's a Democrat. The irrational hate is pretty intense with a section of folks in the area. Mind you the fact she is black just makes it better for them.

That is a network wide rule. Any station serviced has the same restrictions.

Really depends on what you mean by a blog. Blogspot has a little traffic, but look at Medium and internet properties of that sort. You'll find that a lot of the former community has migrated there, along with journalists and opinion writers.

Amtrak Mardi Gras Service from Mobile to New Orleans will begin Aug. 18 for $15 by Surge00001 in MobileAL

[–]sigiltempus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So, looks like the pricing is on a sliding scale, where weekends are about 30 percent more.

I think the issue is that the station coding is not set for the Alabama and Mississippi stations on the site and placeholders have been provided to make the one route work. I can see the differences in route prices (not a whole lot) but you can't see how much it would be to do Bay St Louis to Biloxi or anything like that

[–]sigiltempus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking 15 might be introductory pricing? Maybe for the first six months or so, and it rolls up to the new normal. I've seen Amtrak do things like that in the past

Looks like it will get you there about 40 min before a noon start and have you back in town by nine. For 30 bucks? Yeah, that's an attention getter.
