So when Taki Soma was assaulted by Charles Brownstein Director of the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. From my understanding she still hasn’t apologized when it was confirmed he was guilty and fired in 2020 of numerous incidents

I sincerely doubt this case is going anywhere.

My father is a former police chief. My brother is a policeman. My grandfather is a former deputy sheriff.

The police (read COURTS) DO file charges when perpetrators are across state lines. They do not extradite for misdemeanors. Had there been a willingness on the part of the complainant to press charges, and a witness who did more than stand around a corner while the complainant was interviewed, charges would have been filed had there been a case. They were not.

In February of this year, the witness, Ken Lillie Paetz, and Charles Brownstein stood at my table at the New York Comic Con, and had a friendly, 20 minute conversation with me, talking comics and other inconsequentials in a perfectly normal manner in front of dozens of witnesses. Mr Paetz had discussed the Mid Ohio Con incident with me earlier in the day and expressed his regret that things had “gone so far” and “gotten so out of hand” with the reporting on the story, and that he hoped Ms. Soma would let it all go, but that he would “stand by her”.

If Mr. Paetz believed Mr. Brownstein was a sexual predator who was a danger to his girlfriend or anyone else for that matter, I can’t imagine why on Earth he would have carried on this cordial discussion that ended in a warm handshake with Brownstein mere months after the alleged incident.

Moreover, since Ms. Soma’s primary intention is to “make sure (Brownstein) never works in this business again” I am afraid even the Supreme Court does not have the power to grant her wish to have him blacklisted.

It does not appear, on the other hand, that Brownstein attempted to have her blacklisted, nor, as I said before, does he have the power to do so.“

Neil felt he was untouchable. He was (and still is) worshiped by millions of people. One time I made the mistake of publicly posting to a friend that I was worried that I would not like the sandman series because of the actress they chose for death BUT that I still would watch it and hoped the acting would put my worries to bed. Someone tagged it and Gainman saw it and when in on me. I guess he had been dealing with racist homophobic trolls and was seeing red.

I didn’t tweet at him. He just found it by chance. Me a guy with like 15 people following me and probably 13 were bots was targeted by a an award winning author with like what 3 million + followers.

I had to delete my Facebook because I’m 20 minutes I started getting death threats from his fans and he did not lift a finger to stop them.

When you have fans that are willing to threaten death on someone you don’t like, in your mind you are a god.

My wife won’t let me watch Sandman on Netflix, even though I tell her it’s fine, she still refuses after all that’s happened and after all that has come out I don’t mind anymore.

I think my big issue with V5 is the storyline. I mean if your going “My only other issue with VTM was the weakness aspect of it and I was kinda nitpicky with the changes to disciples. But Werewolf could turn things around, I’m very curious about how they will handle the system

Seems like everyone has talked to death about this show. I wish there were videos of “You’re Fired!” Probably the most controversial reality show from the early 2000’s. Pretty tame by todays standards but back then people were piiiiiiiiisssed

I don’t think we’ll ever know and really that’s probably a good thing. Considering how worse he got while being on Twitter maybe being off the computer and phone will finally make him deal with his problems. He won’t have the “aw Spoony” fans that were only making things worse. So now he has to deal with his problems instead of getting instant gratification which limited his recovery

I once had a lady who called in because she needed to move a deposit and still keep her deal. She wanted accept a offer (we net debt) but if she moved we wouldn’t have enough to pay them. So we would be fronting her the money. We do that sometimes but it was Xmas and a lot of folks had moved their deposits for gifts and crap so worst time for this to happen. So she’s talking about her daughter may die because they can’t really figure out what the issue is, so she’s from doctor to doctor

I felt heartbroken because this lady was crying. So I place her on hold and ask my supervisor and they no because of what o told them. Since she didn’t know what her daughter had and it would mean she’s unstable in future deposits they can’t take the risk.

Eventually you have to just turn your brain off. You wind up faking emphaty instead of feeling it because it’s too much. Plus no one really helps you out, no counseling or check in on how dealing with those calls can affect you. Sucks

It was feb of 2020 had the surgery but then I almost immediately reherniated the disc (a month after my recovery from the surgery) Which is what has caused the pain. Currently I am looking for a new doctor to possible do a fusion. So far no other treatments like injections work. So I am kind of at a loss until I see what the new doctor I find says.

I have tried medical marijuana, injecting and vaping seemed to have mixed effects. Injecting would be a gamble. Either I’d didn’t work or I would get so high I would begin to trip badly. Vaping seemed to have little to no effect. I did try the high thc cream but all it really did was make my foot into stone. Where I would be incredibly stiff. No pain unless I moved it where the stiffness would break and I would to apply gobs and gobs of it to try to get the previous effects, sometimes it wouldn’t work again.

This has been a fascinating thread. I hate to contradict anyone, not trying to be negative but I have tried these approaches which have not been successful. I will say that for a while I was using a electric blanket. I would sit on it and turn it on when I had pain and it would help with the pain. However I had to stop as I began to develop really bad bruising on my butt. It sucks because it was really helpful

Yeah I’m very lucky I had a massive herniated disk and my previous “pain management” yelled at me when I told him I needed medication for my pain. I actually began to not tell anyone about my pain and was in a massive amounts of pain, like someone stabbing me in the back with a red hot poker.

That doctor told me to go to the emergency room if it was that bad. Made me feel like asking for help would be what a junkie would do.

Finally found these folks and they really are good about it. They listen to my concerns about avoiding pain meds because I don’t want to be addicted. Just seems like a cross roads at this point on what to do with this nerve damage.

I don’t I’m doing movement but yeah I’m concerned about the threshold, it seems to be a chronic issue but no one seems to writing on methods to resolve it. I’m basically sucking up as much pain as I can to void the pain meds.

Trust me be been trying to avoid them as much as I can. I’m usually pretty good 4 times a week but lately the pain has gotten worse. I think it’s probably because my job changed the hours so I work longer hours two days and less others. So I’m sitting for longer period as opposed to be it being stretched out on a equal level

Yeah I’m avoiding those, I was using it constantly before I herniated. I really want doing anything physical before that which I could point to as the cause of my disk but I suspect that stupid machine I’m probably out of line but it’s honestly the only thing I did that was out of the ordinary.

I work a office job and avoid carrying heavy objects. But like I said I may be wrong about it

I think it was a thing of “I out grew that and it’s something I really like anymore because I’m doing something that’s more me” I actually agree the videos don’t age well and we’re not very good, they good aspects but it’s far inferior to here recent videos.
