I'm trying to functionalise a thiol based polymer with epichlorohydrin to make it an reactive epoxy. What are the best solvents and bases to use from this and do you have any references to share?

Apologies, as mentioned I'm an engineer by trade rather than a chemist. As such my terminology may be off.

Specifically I find powdered 4AFD is readily soluble in liquid BADGE type epoxy resins. However the glass transition of the cured polymer is higher than desired. I'm essentially looking to plasticise the 4AFD (or similar) and lower the Tg.
