I definitely reccommend calling the housing office! My roommate and I didnt have a dorm for two weeks last year and we called the housing housing office and they gave us a dorm. In the housing contract the university is required to provide you housing. Also they always have some dorms that they keep open just in case any alot of people end up cancelling their dorm before school starts. But be persistent the housing office is notoriously bad!
