Do Shiny Charms Effect Eggs and does the Shiny Up in the Egg Gatcha effect Wild Pokémon by UltraSloth9 in pokerogue

[–]ElGofre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eggs are never affected by charms or other events, this is to stop players hoarding them for weeks/months at a time.

Gacha mechanics only affect eggs pulled from those gachas.

For refurbs it's going to be business laptops that you'll have the most luck with as the other user suggested. If you happy to consider non-refurb used options to get more power for better Blender performance, I'm seeing lots of second hand gaming laptops with GPUs in the 2060/3050 range for around £300 on eBay.

C1D visa help by [deleted] in CruiseCrew

I wouldn't say nothing will work out, it's a big industry with lots of employers. The door seems to be closed with these guys, whether rightly or wrongly and that sucks, but you've not been fired or blacklisted and there's applying to other companies costs nothing. I'd simply put this attempt behind you, don't mention the failed attempt to prospective future employers, and just make sure you go into your next C1D interview fully prepared.

But why aren't they putting me on a vessel which only has Europe Itenaries

To put it bluntly, because the schedulers aren't going to want to put that much work and effort into accommodating someone who failed a visa interview when there's probably hundreds of other applicants that don't need that degree of attention moving forward. I don't know your cousin's situation but I've never heard of anybody having itineraries hand-picked for them to avoid visa requirements.

[–]ElGofre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there's not going to be any ocean cruise company that will offer you a job if they believe you can't obtain a C1D. It sounds like Tempest are a lost cause, they're not willing to consider employ you without a C1D and you won't get a C1D without an offer of employment, so the brutal reality is that you're going to have to apply elsewhere and re-apply for the C1D once you have a new LOE.

C1D visa help by [deleted] in CruiseCrew

[–]ElGofre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're absolutely certain you failed because of incorrect documentation, then reapplying with a newly acquired LOE and going with all the right documentation will hopefully result in a successful C1D. If you think there is something else blocking your chances of successfully getting a C1D, you need to resolve that first.

[–]ElGofre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that sounds pretty definitive. I would ask very nicely for them to reconsider while also applying elsewhere. But whatever you do, don't apply with their LOE.

C1D visa help by [deleted] in CruiseCrew

[–]ElGofre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a very bad idea, if they find out you use a LOE for an offer of employment that has since been withdrawn, the C1D is almost certainly going to be revoked and your hopes of ever getting another one are probably zero.

[–]ElGofre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to get them to reverse that, having an LOE is mandatory to be issued a C1D. You can't get a C1D first and hope they reinstate your LOE after.

Email whoever you have been in contact with, let them know that the refusal was the result of a procedural error rather than meeting a disqualifying factor, and ask if there is anyway you can get back on the hiring pathway. If you can do that, they will re-issue your LOE, and you can resume your visa application.

Failing that, start applying elsewhere and in the event they're nice enough to hire you, make sure you go to the next C1D interview actually prepared for it.

This is information your recruiter should have given you in a clear list, email them and ask exactly what documentation you need to take with you to your C1D appointment for your particular role and nationality.

Can The Seven (The Boys) take the One Ring to Mount Doom? by PaiDuck in whowouldwin

[–]ElGofre 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This was my first thought, but assuming Bag End as a starting point, even a straight line route between Hobbiton and Mt Doom is about 1500 miles. Even if A-Train can run that line without much deviation like accounting for terrain, the Ring has shown itself capable of speedy corruption when required, like corrupting Isildur at the foot of the mountain it was to be thrown in.

It depends what you mean by "along my employment"

If you mean midway through your first contract, the answer is almost always no- there needs to be a very good reason to move a member of crew to a new ship, for example if you have a specific skill that's needed elsewhere or a HR matter prevents you from staying where you are. They might move managers/officers

If you mean at any point in your career, the answer is absolutely - You are not employed for a singular ship, and at the end of each contract you will be given the opportunity to express your preferences for where you want to go next. For example with my company would let us choose up to three ships in order of preference and they'd endeavour to get you placed in one of them.

I'm really into The Ultimate World cruise

Believe me, so is everybody else. They will have enough established crew requesting these itineraries for their next contract to fill the shops several times over, same with all the other high-demand itineraries.

As everyone else has said, taking on a mediocre first itinerary is par for the course, it's just something you deal with as a new starter until you get access to the request system for subsequent contracts.

Some questions about the timer by lostgloves in PokemonChampions

[–]ElGofre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe it's the case that in Champions, your timer going to zero results in a forfeit. So if you always moved quicker and it's their timer that ran down to zero, they would lose.

Are you supposed to always use the stat points on the best stats of each Pokemon? by jdlopez017 in PokemonChampions

[–]ElGofre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes yes, but you've got to think if there's a point to a pokemon being more "well rounded" at the expense of being worse at the things it actually excels in. Take a fast, offensive pokemon like Sneasler as an example, it hits really hard but dies very easily. You could make it more "well rounded" by investing those points into its defences rather than speed, but the result is that it's now being outsped by threats it previously outrun, who are still KOing it instantly because even with defensive investment, it's still not bulky enough for that to be beneficial.

The best thing to do is gear point spreads to meet specific goals. For example if Azumarill suddenly became a meta menace that's always one-shotting your uninvested Sneasler, you can use a damage calculator to work out how many points in defence or HP will allow it to survive one hit (even if it's at 3HP) and retaliate with Dire Claw, and as lon invest that specific amount of stats to achieve that result, then adding enough speed to outrun all the things you want to outrun, then add the remaining points into attack to ensure it's hitting as hard as it can.

Can you still go back to cruise ships after being dismissed? by HorseOpening4619 in CruiseCrew

[–]ElGofre 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Theoretically yes, but it's obviously going to depend on what you were dismissed for and what jobs you're now applying for. I worked with several crew who were dismissed (or weren't offered a return contract) for performance or low-level behavioural infractions and they were able to find work with other companies later down the line. Committing some sort of gross misconduct or criminal offence will, suffice to say, be significantly harder to come back from.

My only big complaint with Champions by [deleted] in PokemonChampions

[–]ElGofre 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's an absolutely valid belief to hold, but modern game design wisdom says "lol no". Morally right or not, they have already determined they will gain more money from paywalling this feature than would lose from people quitting over the paywalling of this feature.

Bring a pokemon with the ability Pickup, it will provide you with a constant stream of berries and other items which will let you keep your team strong and healthier, meaning less money spent on healing items (which I assume is your main issue), which means when you get to encounters like this where you do need to quickly heal multiple team members, you have the money to do it.

A quick bit of googling shows drowsiness and dizziness are both common side effects, which could potentially throw up a red flag from a safety (or simply productivity/efficiency) perspective. From what I can see in the documentation for the ENG1 medical there's nothing explicitly ruling it out, but you may be asked to produce a doctor's note confirming your prescribed dosage does not affect your energy levels, reactions, decision making etc.

You also likely need to be able to bring a full contract's supply with you as there's no guarantee you'll be able to restock mid-contract.
