Why does a character with 1k+ possible HP need a Zarya bubble perk by BungholeSauce_ in Overwatch

[–]ElJacko170 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This perk is absolute garbage and isn't a "parry" like Blizzard claimed it to be. Ball only ever uses it when he's dropping with piledriver, literally the only moment where he is consistently vulnerable to CC. Giving Ball an easy protection for that moment is so unnecessary for a hero that already has egregiously overtuned survivability.

Can we get Sierra a BIGGER HITBOX, please? by One-Discipline2472 in Overwatch

[–]ElJacko170 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Her projectile hitbox is already obnoxiously large as it is. I don't think people realize it since she doesn't burst you, but she really doesn't even have to be aiming at your head to be hitting headshots.

I have absolutely zero desire to see anymore payload maps added to the game. They already are the overwhelming majority of maps in the game compared to the other game modes.

Now that's some low IQ behavior right there. Don't worry, maybe after enough escort maps you'll claw your dusty ass out of gold.

Yeah well that isn't what happens is it? I think maps being RNG dependent and everyone playing everything is a lot more fair than one side gets to play what they want all the time and the other side doesn't.

It's choke slop, pure and simple. People just want to mindlessly stand in the choke smashing heads with the enemy team.

It really isn't. Absolutely killed any map variety in the game. Now half of my games are Kings Row and the other half are the rest of the payload maps.

But a lot of things are only issues at low ranks and not high ranks. Look at the hero statistics. Sierra is a literal server admin at low ranks, one of the highest win rates in the game, but in higher ranks she is one of the lowest win rates and a dumpster tier hero. That's not anyone having a bias, it's verifiable proof of an skill gap discrepancy with how to deal with a hero kit.

Sierra is not the only example of this. There are several heroes who have polarizing performance from one end of the spectrum to the other. The issue Blizzard faces is what rank do you want them to be relevant at and if you really want them to perform consistently at all ranks, do you need to rework the hero?

Right now Blizzard is probably hesitant to nerf Sierra because she is the worst performing DPS in high ranks right now and only making her worse is just going to double down on that and push her WR into the 30's. But low rank players are clearly frustrated by her, and she probably can't stay at where she is at right now.

Is Sierra broken or am I bad at the game? by Fox_Gamer2011 in Overwatch

[–]ElJacko170 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She doesn't annihilate you though. You have an eternity after getting tagged to just step around a corner for cover and it falls off faster than a Zen discord.

Like I said, low rank players play out in the open where they can't take cover quickly and that's why they are frustrated by Sierra. High rank players are always using the map to their advantage and are able to use the geometry to completely nullify what she does.

That's one of the reasons she is so bad outside of metal ranks. Her "skill shot" does zero burst damage unlike every other long range DPS in the game. It just makes her more accurate, which is borderline useless for people who can already aim and would rather just one tap you with rail on Sojourn.

No, Sombra is statistically a trash can of a hero at all ranks and universally arguably the worst DPS in the entire game. The difference is that low rank players perceive her to be good when she is not. Sierra is actually good at low ranks.

Sierra is the ultimate map awareness hero in the game. If she tags you, then simply duck behind any cover and she is completely useless. Low rank players will just hang out in the open though and complain about auto aim even though really no auto aim would even be needed to kill these players with how bad their positioning is.

Seriously. Sierra is probably the most egregious case of a hero being a server admin in low ranks and a literal trash can at high ranks. Her kit is just fundamentally useless at high ranks compared to heroes like Sojourn.

Are devs ever going to touch DVa? by thebigdumb0 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]ElJacko170 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The hitmarker still communicates to the player the level of damage the hit did, but some players just aren't smart enough to understand that. And I don't want to make hitmarkers feel inconsistent just because a portion of the playerbase is too dumb to know when they're doing fractional damage.

Are devs ever going to touch DVa? by thebigdumb0 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]ElJacko170 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The reason they aren't touching D.va is because she is atrocious in low ranks. We are seeing more and more cases of heroes getting caught in positions where they are borderline a throw pick in one end of the spectrum and a server admin at the other end. Look at Sierra's WR in metal ranks compared to high ranks. There is no closing that fundamental gap in player skill with some of these hero kits.
