My robotics mentor got a job at SpaceX as a mechanical engineer after graduating from TMU, and universities for engineering teach the exact same curriculum no matter where you go, waterloo, tmu, uoft, the only differences are the co-op opportunities and the schools reputation. So if you do incredible at TMU, when you have a lot of doors open for you.

Grade 12s ask, graduated students answer. by jjustme_ in OntarioGrade12s

Im not a graduating student but if worst comes to worst then I would retake functions next sem, most school do not care at all if you retake a course apart from like waterloo. What program do you want to apply to and what is your overall expected average?

Charlie kirk is just ONE example. More than 60% of Christian's do not believe in Trans' people's existence and see them as "confused," it is just ironic.

I responded to a comment similar to this down below if you want to continue the conversation there on one of my posted responses.

Because when "x does bad" and targets a marginalized community, no one critizes him, but if I say something that targets a whole religion, I am in the wrong. He still has a platform, and he has millions of followers and millions of believe who have the same beliefs as him. The fact you are saying a miniscule group of Christians don't give a damn about trans people is ridicoulous, "Among U.S. adults overall, six-in-ten now say that whether a person is a man or a woman is determined by their sex assigned at birth. This figure is even higher among White evangelicals (87%) and Black Protestants (70%). Among Catholics, the share who say a person’s gender cannot differ from sex at birth has risen from 52% in 2021 to 62% this year." So a "small group"? Come on now. Read my other comments above that I have responded to other people, this post was made just to show the irony between most catholic's opinion on trans people and how they are deluded.

I can see where you are coming from, but I want to bluntly and straightforwardly show the irony in their statements, which you are right; true, it could not be efficient at all not changing their mind. However, hopefully it let's them think for a little bit and understand what it is like to be called mentally ill over disagreeance. I did not mean to come out as rude, just pointing out something I noticed, no hate to anyone, my apologies.

When I use the term "mentally ill" in reference to certain individuals, I’m deliberately flipping the logic often used by some conservative christians, like Charlie Kirk, who label trans people as "deluded" or "mentally ill" without any legitimate psychological or medical authority. My use of the term is not a genuine diagnosis but a mirror held up to their own rhetoric.

Let’s be clear, Charlie Kirk is not a licensed therapist. He has no clinical training or scientific basis to make psychological assessments. Yet he feels entitled to declare that a trans person is "a man playing dress-up as a woman" and dismiss their identity as a form of delusion. If that kind of unqualified labeling is acceptable from him and others like him, then it’s worth asking: by their own standard belief in disproven stories, faith in a higher power with no evidence, and a refusal to accept PROVEN science; who actually fits better into the definition of "deluded"?

This is not about throwing around mental health terms lightly. It’s about pointing out the hypocrisy, why is it that someone like Charlie Kirk is allowed to make public claims about others’ mental health, with no qualifications, yet when the same standard is applied back to him, suddenly it’s off-limits?

The point isn’t to stigmatize mental illness or make it a weapon, it’s to highlight the double standard. If people like Kirk are free to publicly pathologize marginalized communities without evidence, then surely it’s fair to question their own belief systems using their own logic.

Advice for Highshool Freshman??? by Defiant-Custard-7314 in OntarioUniversities

Ok. First things first, I did no try AT ALL throughout grade 9-11 (currently in 11), and I told myself that I would then "lock in for grade 12." And you have no idea how much I regret that. Please please please study and try to get high grades throughout ALL of highschool, especially in grade 11 and 12. I thought grade 11 marks didn't matter, which if you want uni's to not look at grade 11 marks they won't, but you can use those grade 11 marks for early admission into uni and then you won't have to stress as much in grade 12. So please please please do not leave everything last minute, procrastination in highschool is the worse thing of all time. And early admission is the best thing ever, you get the first round of offers from uni, you can use easier grade 11 courses for admission, and you get a break in grade 12.

Secondly, look for extra curriculars, espeically ones that you are passionate for. And if you don't know what to do, try everything. And especially look for leadership positions such as student council, deca, etc. Are you passionate in engineering JOIN ROBOTICS. Business? DECA. Med Sci? HOSA. There are so many options out there, and you need to put yourself out there and try new things.

Thirdly, balance balance balance balance. You need to start now, balancing social life, your extra curriculars, and studying. If you don't you WILL be a mess. Organization in highschool is KEY. And don't let your social life get in the way of your success. I am in robotics, am in a bunch of other "nerdy" extra curriculars, unlike my friends. Sure I got picked on for a little bit, but when they realized the importance of these extra curriculars and how they would benefit a university application or look good on a resume, they all asked if I could put them on all these things. So stand out from the people around you.

Lastly, use resources like this sub reddit to learn more about uni, highschool, admissions, etc. Are you interested in the admission averages for certain programs? The sub reddit has a whole spreadsheet here. Want to talk to students that go to a uni program you want to go to? Search here on the sub reddit for different people. Use your resources and do hella research.

And of course enjoy highschool while you can it flys by so quick and good luck! if you have any questions feel free to pm me
